I stayed at a 4 star, much fancier hotel after Don Jacinto, and I was amazed how much better Don Jacinto was! My wife and I were here for almost a whole week. The location is absolutely unbeatable (you can walk anywhere you want and it's right next to some of the best coffee and food we had the whole trip and corner stores if you need anything), which is mostly why we picked it, but I was really impressed with the room and amenities. Staff was amazing, really responsive and the turndown service was probably the best I've ever had. Lots of room for your luggage and stuff. It was really so much nicer than the much more expensive and fancy hotel we ended our trip with and the value for your money is incredible. It's a great location to get a ride-share or order delivery food too. The building is absolutely gorgeous - beautiful tile work and woodwork and it really makes you feel like you're in Mexico City, and not a generic hotel someplace else. Staff was SO nice. US travelers please note: download WhatsApp and send them a text prior to check in. Even if you add your mobile number, texts can be weird and I couldn't receive anything outside of WhatsApp. If you message staff on WhatsApp they're super super responsive and nice (with great English). The hallway can be a little noisy, but it's an old building. Sometimes you can hear some street noise in the bathroom but not the bedroom (this is part of the appeal of being in Mexico City, if you ask me). If you absolutely demand a peaceful sleep or you're really sensitive to noise, maybe book elsewhere. But that said, I'm a very light sleeper and no one ever woke me up early or bothered me, and they provide earplugs in the little lobby. If I could, I'd...
Read moreWe booked this expecting a 3-star hotel like Google indicates, but this property felt more like something you'd see on Airbnb. It was fairly priced and the service was very responsive and helpful...but if you are looking for an actual hotel, I'd look elsewhere.
There is no front desk or lobby. The door from the street opens to one flight of stairs that leads to the rooms on the second floor. They do provide a phone number that you can text, and they responded almost immediately every time I texted. Someone else met us at the door at time of check-in to show us the room and to answer questions. The room we booked (TOÑA deluxe) had no windows. Frosted windows in the bathroom let in a lot of light, but not much of it gets to the bedroom because of the walls. At night the room was really dark even with all the lights on. The rooms use a key rather than a keycard, and the wooden doors feel like a room inside a house rather than a soundproof hotel door. There's also a small gap under the door which is how I think a mosquito got into our room. There were a few thunderstorms and heavy rain during our stay, and rain seeped through the bathroom windows and a small puddle formed on the floor. No AC, but there was a fan which was sufficient even during the summer. The outlets worked inconsistently, but at least there were a lot of them. The wifi was pretty slow, but maybe this is not unique to this hotel?
Pros: Blackout curtains worked great Comfortable firm bed Quiet street Thoughtful amenities: umbrellas to borrow, kitchenette with communal mini fridge for hotel guests,...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of returning to Don Jacinto Stay & Sip, and I can say without hesitation that our experience was just as wonderful as our first stay three years ago.
The location is absolutely fantastic. You can easily stroll to the trendy neighborhoods of Roma and Condesa, and you're just a stone's throw away from the beautiful Chapultepec Park. It's perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in the local culture and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the city.
Our room was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully appointed with every detail considered. From bathrobes to a convenient towel warmer, it felt luxurious and comfortable. The amenities provided truly made us feel at home. The complimentary coffee, tea, and water available at any time were a delightful touch.
We were also impressed by the excellent Wi-Fi, which made it easy to stay connected.
The host of Don Jacinto is incredible, offering also wealth of tips on activities and local dining. Their recommendations were spot on, guiding us to some amazing restaurants and experiences that truly enriched our trip.
One other highlight was the daily housekeeping service, which ensured our room remained clean and inviting throughout our stay. This attention to detail really made a difference and added to our overall comfort.
Without a doubt, we would choose to return to Don Jacinto Stay & Sip on our next visit. This charming retreat has all the elements for a perfect stay in...
