The hotel is decent but has room for improvement, especially considering it markets itself as a luxury property. Unfortunately, it falls short of the standards one might expect from a truly luxurious experience. The atmosphere is cold and lacks the cozy, inviting vibe I've come to associate with other luxury hotels.
The elevators are extremely small, which can be inconvenient, and the parking situation is confusing. The hotel shares its parking garage with another property, so I recommend using valet to avoid frustration.
Despite having many employees, the service was slow at times. However, the staff members were consistently friendly and helpful, which I greatly appreciated.
Now, onto the booking experience. I traveled from Texas to Monterrey to meet a special guest for lunch and attempted to make restaurant reservations before my arrival. Unfortunately, this process was a disaster. The hotel’s website is inaccurate and fails to reflect up-to-date information about its facilities. While the property boasts two restaurants and two bars, the staff seemed unaware of this, and the website didn’t help either. I was initially told the restaurants wouldn't be open during my stay, which turned out to be untrue. Thankfully, I did enjoy a fantastic meal during my visit.
The concierge reached out via text upon my arrival in Mexico, and I requested an early check-in. I was told this couldn’t be accommodated due to maximum capacity, yet when I arrived at the hotel two hours early, I was able to check in without issue. This inconsistency in communication was frustrating and unnecessary.
Despite these challenges, my stay was manageable, and I want to give a special shoutout to Tathi, the bartender. She was phenomenal and truly enhanced my experience with her exceptional service and great personality.
Overall, this hotel has potential but needs to improve its attention to detail, communication, and overall guest experience to truly live up to its...
Read moreGreat architecture, very modern building and beautifully appointed rooms. Very well located. Although the service is not up to a 5-star hotel standard. At the car park there are many stairs and no ramps to access the elevators. There are no clear signs to guide you to reception. It took 90 minutes for a room service pizza and salad. A courtesy wine by Hotels.com was not in the room. We had to ask for it, and when delivered, with a 30-minute delay, there were no wine glasses. The coffee cups in the room were dirty. Only one bath robe and one pair of slippers were in a room for two people. No flowers, no chocolates or fruits. The mini fridge was empty. The illumination controls made a constant noise, similar to a drop of water every 30 seconds. That was annoying at night. The shower floor is very slippery. There is no door handle at the toilet door from the inside. The staff seems inexperienced and not very helpful. On the plus side, the view from our room was great. We loved the Molton Brown toiletries. The bed and linen are top-notch worthy of a 5-star hotel. The 75-inch Samsung TV was great but with connectivity problems for an iPhone. Traffic noise can be heard from the street all the way up to the 23rd floor. The Wi-Fi was constantly disconnecting on our iPhone but not on an android device. The lack of a swimming pool was also a letdown. I don't think we will be staying at this...
Read moreLive Aqua took a bit to get used to two receptions, one road side and one on the 18th floor, but at both a good welcome. Room looked great and well appointed, the Molton Brown toiletries, full mini bar, good size bed, nice linen, dressing gowns etc remote control curtains, The only problem Awas the wet room! After a shower the water didn’t drain away, it pooled around the bottom of the bath and the blinds and curtains, leaving for much of our stay a flooded and at times unusable wet room. On notifying reception, the drain was ‘looked at’ but the issue was not rectified.|We had breakfast one morning in the hotel and whilst the food was good , unfortunately the same can’t be said for the service. We were not advised how the breakfast system worked, and when I went to take some toast from the open hot counter I was shouted at by a waitress “ have you ordered toast?” He we been told that toast, or anything else had to be ordered then I would have known!!! Considering the amount of staff on the floor and the star rating of Live Aqua, the standard of service we experienced in the restaurant was disappointing. Would I stay...
