UME | 梅 — Restaurant in Nuevo León

This is the place to go if you want to experience one of the best, real Sushi Omakase. Misaki-san and Ume-san are masters of their craft, the attention to detail to every dish is superb.

I’ve had Omakase in Gion Kyoto and this place reminded a lot of that. Every dish is flavorful and neatly presented as well with a brief explanation from Misaki-san about the ingredients and preparation. The Sushi course is very complete with everything you’d expect from Omakase like Otoro and Uni, but I also liked the addition of Kiritanpo which is a dish from Misaki’s hometown. Also, they make their own fresh wasabi!

Their drink menu is very ample and diverse, I had the sake from Hiroshima and was delicious!

This place is worth every cent if you like and appreciate a great Sushi...

Our dining experience at Ume was the best we experienced in Monterey. Firstly, my husband and I only speak English and all the staff made such an incredible effort to speak English or translate. Secondly, the food is FANTASTIC and is SO fast, I highly recommend the agadashi Tofu. The vibe is so cool, you can see the chef grilling the Yakitori from the dining area. We went back 3 times during our trip and on the last day the chef and owner came out and personally thanked us for coming. I will absolutely be back next time we...

Highest rated on Google but worst quality compared to others in the area. Decent beer selection but that’s about it.

Anyone rating this good Japanese cuisine has never eaten Japanese food outside Monterrey.
