Spa OKOM — Hotel in Playa del Carmen

If you live in playa and are interested in their spa membership DON'T GET ONE. It's a freaking nightmare. I've had issues since I first signed up a year ago. Whether its that the facilities are insanely chaotic with dirty towels everywhere and loud people that make the space feel like a gym, or that they try to correct for this by not letting you in at all even though the facilities are COMPLETELY empty, whoever is running this place has no idea what they're doing and all the burden is placed on the clients. I have a few more months left of my membership but will honestly probably just ask for a refund and get a membership at The Hyatt and use that instead to avoid such a headache and deep inefficiency. Also the massages genuinely are a waste of time and don't do anything at all, I have a better masseuse who comes to my house and is less expensive. NOT a 4 star spa, more like...

A place of rebirth and baptisim, a place to release surrender and let go, a sanctuary of light. The staff are like angels, the ambience is celestial. I am always treated with such love respect and care. The hydrotherapy pool is very healing and the different pressures from the flowing water add a whole different dimension, the sauna is spacious and well kept, the ice bath is a place to test yourself and the steam room is invigorating.

The ambience of the place shines through, the lighting is tuned in to a T, the complementary water is infused with fruit, the herbal teas are vibrant and tasty.

My boyfriend and I booked the 4 elements massage. The masseuse I had was decent and she applied some pressure. My boyfriend said his was basically an oil rub. The aromatherapy was nice.

The hydrotherapy area sucks. Don't use it unless it comes free with your massage. Hydrotherapy is supposed to be hot then cold then relax. But there's a lukewarm pool and a tiny cold tub

The domestic guests did not respect the quiet rule so other guests can relax. And the staff did not come around to ask them to be respectful of the rules.
