Sr. Godzilla is an absolute gem in Playa Del Carmen! From the moment you walk in, the decor and ambiance immediately set the tone for an incredible dining experience. The vibe is modern, stylish, and welcoming – perfect for a fun night out or a special dinner.

The food was outstanding. We tried the Sashimi Plate, Crispy Rice, Spicy Godzilla Roll, Beef Gyozas, and Crispy Shrimp – every single dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The sashimi melted in your mouth, the crispy rice had the perfect crunch with just the right balance of toppings, and the Spicy Godzilla Roll quickly became a table favorite. The gyozas and shrimp rounded everything out perfectly. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the quality and creativity of the menu.

Our server, Carla, was phenomenal. She went above and beyond with her recommendations and service, making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. In fact, I even overheard the table next to us talking about how amazing she was—which just goes to show how much she elevates the whole experience.

Sr. Godzilla is definitely one of the more thoughtfully designed restaurants in Playa. The décor is upbeat, stylish, and sets a fun tone without feeling over the top. The atmosphere really adds to the experience and makes it a great place to spend an evening.

What stood out the most was the service. The team here clearly cares about what they’re doing, and about your experience. They strike that balance of attentiveness and friendliness that makes you feel genuinely looked after. It was almost over the top—in a good way—and left a strong impression.

The food was solid overall, with a few standout dishes. The Wagyu ramen was excellent and absolutely worth trying. The edamame and Mongolian beef were also fantastic and would be easy repeats for a future visit. Some items didn’t land quite as well—the pork belly dumplings were fairly average, the duck tacos were good but felt like they needed an extra element, and the sushi wasn’t particularly memorable.

That said, the combination of atmosphere, service, and a few standout dishes makes this spot worth visiting again. There’s clearly creativity in the kitchen, and I’d be happy to return to try more...

ALL I need to say is WOW! This place is amazing 🤩 I have been traveling to Playa del Carmen for 15 years, and this is absolutely the BEST restaurant for this type of food in town.

As a Google top 10% worldwide food reviewer, it is not often I return to the same place two daya in a row to eat, but, that's the case with Sr. Godzilla!

Awesome food, cooked to perfection, with just right portion sizes. Seasoning is on point. Not salty at all!

I just can't say enough about their fresh fish dish "catch of the day" as well. Stupendous!

As a newly opened restaurant, it usually takes some time for the groove to set in so that the food, service, and people are on point!

Not here... If you have ANY hesitation, forget it, get going to go eat here, and you will NOT be disappointed ☺️

It may be a little pricey, however, to end the meal as happy as you will be is a gift to me, especially as a 100% Italian who CAN cook, and so, as I can't do it better myself-I will be heading there once again TODAY to pickup food to enjoy, and I am absolutely thrilled 😁
