I’ve just returned home from a 5 day stay here. I didn’t do a huge amount of research before booking so here are my honest thoughts.
The hotel is in Aldea Zama which is still going through vast amounts of construction - be prepared for no peace and quiet during working hours on working days. There are buildings going up on either side of this one as of August 2024. Braulio, the manager, is a super decent guy who really wants to go above and beyond for guests. The parking is street parking and not secure if that’s a concern for you. I felt the property was good value for money in terms of quality of room (I had a Suite with Private Pool). I know the cleaners went through my property because my bag for my clippers was tied in a way I’ve never done before. Subsequent to this I observed them cleaning my neighbour’s room and going through belongings/using their perfume. When I raised this with Braulio he was super defensive and almost judgey. The walk into town is between 30-40mins and through some really sketchy areas. On the day I was due to check out (check is 12pm) the cleaners knocked on my door at 8am, 9.30am and 10am - not the peaceful last morning I had hoped for.
Overall I'm afraid I wouldn’t recommend this place simply because - although the rooms are lovely - the location is poor, the staff can’t be trusted and there are far better hotels in a similar price point as I found when I switched for the final 2 days of my...
Read moreThe host was nice. One of the cleaning ladies was lovely, the other looked angry all the time.||The room had a good layout however we were a bit disappointed by some features.||Cleaning wasn’t up to our standard. There were small insects in the kitchen, fruit flies in the bin when we arrived, ants and a cockroach. Understandably Mexico is a hot country with many insects but some of it seemed avoidable. There’s a gap under the front door so I suspect many insects arrive in that way, as well as when the cleaners come in and leave the door open.||When it rained, water ran down the wall near the AC. Speaking of the AC the area it’s located in was damp. I think attention to detail is missing as the overall building has a lot of potential.||The bathroom had some mould and on our second to last day the water smelled horrible and the electricity went out so we woke up hot and sweaty with no way to shower.||Things do happen and I’m sure a hotel is hard to run but some of these things are maintenance issues.|| It was nice having a private pool. Construction at the time we stayed didn’t bother us. There are some restaurants nearby some really nice ones. An oxxo shop 2 mins away.||Things may have...
Read moreWe are so sad that our stay at your beautiful hotel has come to an end. We really enjoyed our time here, and your hospitality was truly exceptional. You were right: the bed was like a dream! I would love to take it home; it’s even better than my own bed.
Naj means "home in the jungle," and that’s exactly what it is. Surrounded by lush trees and beautiful greenery, it truly felt like an oasis in nature. The rooms are stunning and very cleverly designed, with a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen that are perfectly coordinated. The comfortable beds and high-quality bedding provided us with a wonderful night's sleep and made our dreams even sweeter.
The rooftop terrace with the pool was a lovely place to cool off and relax. The hospitality of the owners is truly exceptional; they are always friendly, take the time to chat, and offer great tips for the best beach clubs and restaurants in the area.
As we always say: "True hospitality is not just about providing a service; it's about creating a warm and welcoming environment where every guest feels like family." Hotel Naj Tulum is undoubtedly a place we would love to return to. Thank you...
