PLEASE DON’T GO THERE, IT’S A TOTAL SCAM! This is by far the worst and the most expensive accommodation we stayed at in Mexico.
When we arrived, we were shocked to see that the room looks NOTHING like the pictures. The room was dirty and smelly and overall just gross. The outside furniture was just completely different than on the pictures and looked shabby. There were stains everywhere: on the sheets, curtains, the bath towels and the beach towels. It was absolutely disgusting. The towels felt grubby, too. When we asked for new towels, they told us they don’t get fresh laundry everyday and that they don’t have spare towels. Mind you, this is an accommodation that charges you more than USD $200 per night. The room smelt really bad. They told us it’s because of some plants outside but it smelled just musty all the time. I’m sure it came from the room itself because I had to wash all the clothes I was wearing in Tulum afterwards because they took on that moldy smell. The surroundings of this accommodation are…not great. The “pool” is just a small puddle. There is no natural light inside the room. There are many restaurants and bars nearby that play loud music at night so it’s pretty noisy.
We confronted the concierge guy as well as the owner of the building with our complaints and they were just argumentative and did nothing to make our stay better. Someone was sent to “clean” again but it honestly looked worse afterwards as this person had stepped on our bathmat with his/her dirty shoes (you could see the footprint). Again, this accommodation has the audacity to charge you more than $200 dollars a night. This honestly might be the worst room I have ever stayed in…especially considering the price.
Please don’t go there, please don’t spend any money on these scammers.
EDIT: The owner's response is a lie. No, the room wasn't clean and everyone can see the photos I posted as proof, so I don't know how you can even claim that it was clean. Also, we didn't want a full refund, we asked for a PARTIAL refund because, again, the rooms look nothing like the pictures online. And we didn't ask after we spent 3 nights there, we asked the first night when we arrived if the room could be cleaned properly and when you couldn't do it, we asked for a partial refund on the second day. Of course our booking was refundable, I don't even know what you're talking about. However, it was refundable some days before arrival (as all hotel bookings are?!) and we couldn't have known that the room was dirty before even arriving so how could we have canceled the reservation? And the smell didn't come from the mangroves it came from not cleaning properly. So please stop lying and...
Read moreMy fiance and I stayed here for a friend's wedding this month and we wish we hadn't. We booked the room through Booking.com 2 1/2 months in advance and received a confirmation email from booking and a follow up email from the property shortly thereafter which was a nice touch. I keep all my emails so I still have this to prove it was received. I heard nothing thereafter. When we arrived in Tulum, not a soul could find this place. There is NO SIGNAGE. ZERO and it is not located on the beach side as the map on Booking.com suggests but actually on the opposite side. Once you enter into Tulum, there is no service on your cellphone so you must hook up to Wifi at a business or hotel to use Google Maps and that is what we did. Even with Google Maps, it was incredibly difficult to find as there is nothing to identify it and none of the locals knew where this place was either. If you have to be somewhere quick after check in, just be mindful of this. After finally finding the place, I show my confirmation email to the gentleman running the area and he tells us I'm not on the reservation although I'm showing him my confirmation number, email from 'Daisy', my reservation for a King Room with Balcony and the money that was already paid months in advanced. The man leaves us outside for 30 minutes while we get eaten alive by mosquitoes, holding all of our things and wondering if we will have a room and if we will make it in time to our friends' wedding (the whole reason we came on this trip). He finally comes back and puts us in the only room they had available which was not what we reserved. It was a bottom level room with no balcony or privacy. I was so upset but I had no choice but to take it as we had 45 minutes to get ready and head out to the wedding. THE WORST PART: Booking.com asked me to fill out a survey or my stay. I explained the fiasco but still gave a fair score and review. The managers actually emailed me back BERATING ME!! They insulted me asking why I couldn't just have Google Mapped the place (as if they didn't think I tried doing this multiple times for the 2 hours spent looking for the place) and stated that they sent me emails about my stay WHICH IS A LIE!! Nothing was sent to me besides the first contact email from when I purchased the room. They are unprofessional and a complete waste of your time and money! BEWARE! DO NOT STAY HERE! There are some stunning hotel locations on the beach and in more of the hotspots in the area that are really worth a few more dollars and none of your stress...go there! Also the Wifi does not work in your room so navigating to other places is difficult unless you go stand in the bar to do so. Just a hassle,...
Read moreSometimes you get what you pay for... and sometimes you get less... much less.||||I had my suspicions that something was 'off' based on how difficult it was to get a straight answer when trying to book via a third party website, but due to the lure of the good price (and location), i let my guard down and booked a stay here anyway. Let's be clear: This is not a 'hotel'.. but a handful of condos, at least one of which (First floor suite) was MUCH more worn / threadbare and dark then as appears at the website. ||Significant issues with AC and electricity, and was told i could check-out early and get a refund for the last night.. and although they DEMANDED CASH when I arrived (instead of credit card).. the REFUND STILL hasn't arrived.. months later (i stayed there in MARCH 2022), though not without wasting much of my time via DM's on Whats App.. a COMPLETE RUN-AROUND... all for NOTHING.||||So - stay here at your own risk, and consider...
