This used to be my go to place in Tulum back in 2020, but it has recently changed for the worse. Service was fine, but the food is extremely overpriced with small portions which left our group still feeling hungry afterwards. So much so that we had to eat a second dinner later, which is absurd given the high prices they charge.
The first issue is that they currently have a different menu online than they do in person (i.e. excludes all vegan options), but explained that certain menu items posted online could still be ordered in person... how confusing. We had to do extra homework and ask multiple times for clarity on what is actually offered and what is not. When asked about vegetarian dinner options, they quoted us 400 Pesos/$20 USD for falafel (not even listed on the dinner menu) - ridiculous!
Some of us asked if we could order burgers - which were listed on their lunch menu. We were specifically told that they do not serve burgers for dinner, only lunch. Minutes later, however, we saw a group of adults and kids next to us eating burgers!!! When we asked the waitress, her response was that it was on the children's menu but NEVER thought to inform us that 1) we could order from that menu or 2) they do actually serve burgers for dinner, contradictory to what we were told. Truly strange and puzzling.
Lastly, some food items we ordered tasted mediocre at best and were not filling. Their "famous" fish tacos were tiny, bland, overpriced, and lacked sufficient seasoning/condiments to make it worth the 275 Pesos/$14 USD we paid. You can walk by any taco place on the strip or in town center and they'd serve better fish tacos than they do, honestly. Super disappointing.
We brought up these issues afterwards to the staff at the front, who essentially shrugged it off and said they could not do much about it since they were not there with us when we ordered. They did not seem like they cared to have much empathy for their customers. Our experience with the restaurant, overall price value, and their bizarre menu system were confusing and dissatisfying. There are tons of other restaurants on the strip to eat at. Save your time and skip this one - it's simply...
Read moreThe food was simply to die for- to kill for, to climb mountains for, to cross worlds for, to fight the cruelest battles for, my steak was a gift sent from the heaven- a righteous piece of blessed food, if there was one thing, one thing on this unimaginable dunya to live for, it would indeed, be my steak. The singer sung like Gods best angel, touching my ears, his voice echoed through my soul as the steak entered my digestive tract and passed down my oesophagus via peristalsis. His beautiful tunes could light up the darkest alley in Peckham and turn the most violent gang members into peaceful civilians. Truthfully, even Pablo himself would be calmed by this delightful melody. The service from Lucian was absolutely to slay dragons for, if he were to be the princess trapped in the castle I would strongly desire to be the courageous knight in shining armour to ride in on my white stallion to save him. His English slid off the tongue perfectly as my steak continued to slide down my guts (via peristalsis). He is truly an eagle in disguise souring through the sky with all of creation in his foot and no sophistry in his body, shoutout Ted Hughes. I am extremely grateful to have undergone this life changing experience and would recommend fully to anyone visiting Tulum for half the price of any other restaurants run by RosaNegra group in the surrounding area. Furthermore the building is scenic, romantic and picturesque and ideal...
