Staying at Lula by Le Zebra felt like stepping into a modern magic treehouse. The property has a luxurious yet earthy Tulum vibe, with architecture built around the trees and thoughtful details everywhere, including foot rinses at every entrance, a beach shower, and a restaurant that flows seamlessly between indoors and the oceanfront. There’s even a rooftop above the spa and shala that’s perfect for watching the sunrise.||My room was spacious, always spotless, and stocked with fresh water. The ocean-side balcony featured a hammock chair that I loved, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, complete with full, luxurious pillows. Housekeeping (Rosa and Teresa especially) went above and beyond, and each evening turndown service came with tea and cookies, which was the sweetest way to end the day. I slept soundly every night!||The staff at Lula truly made the experience unforgettable. From the servers (Christian, Adolfo, Manuel, Leo, Damian) to guest services (Juan Carlos), everyone was attentive, kind, and proactive. I even left behind a bathing suit cover-up, and they found it for me before I realized it was missing. Service like that is rare.||A Culinary Journey at Le Zebra’s Kitchen...||Dining at Le Zebra’s kitchen was nothing short of magical! It is truly a five-star food journey that deserves its own spotlight. Chef Raziel and his team (Gabriel, Juan Pablo, and Daniel) prepared dishes that let the freshest local ingredients shine, turning every meal into an experience of flavor and beauty.||We feasted on a range of gourmet foods, including whole grilled fish, perfectly cooked and presented with elegance. Ceviche arrived in coconuts, bright with lime, coconut milk, and herbs, tasting like the sea itself. Sashimi melted like silk on the tongue. Grilled chicken carried smoky tenderness, paired with crisp cucumber salads and vibrant bowls of fruit that made each breakfast feel like a sunrise. Even simple dishes like fresh hummus, greens, and sides were elevated into something memorable.||Every plate was abundant, colorful, and alive, weaving together Mediterranean, local, and Asian-inspired flavors. It felt like eating from the earth, the sea, and the soul of Tulum.||The service team, Christian, Adolfo, Manuel, Leo, and Damian, made the experience seamless. Warm, attentive, and incredibly fast, they anticipated every need. Even when mosquitoes challenged outdoor dining, they brought copal smoke and fans so we could stay immersed in the magic of the meal.||Le Zebra’s kitchen is not just a restaurant, it’s a place where food becomes memory. I have truly never eaten so well in my life.||Since it was low season, all our meals for the wellness retreat were prepared by Le Zebra’s kitchen, which served both properties, and every single dish was a masterpiece.||The Wellness Experience by Chara||I was also here as part of a wellness retreat curated by Chara, with Ricardo offering his gentle strength in movement classes. The staff at Lula truly made the experience unforgettable. From the servers (Christian, Adolfo, Manuel, Leo, Damian) to guest services (Juan Carlos) to our beautiful Wellness Coordinator (Chara), everyone was attentive, kind, and proactive. I even left behind a bathing suit cover-up accidentally, and they found it for me before I realized it was missing. Service like that is rare.
The food deserves its own highlight! Chef Raziel and his team (Gabriel, Juan Pablo, Daniel) prepared some of the most thoughtful and flavorful meals I’ve ever had. Each dish let the ingredients shine, whether Mediterranean, local Mexican, or Asian-inspired. Because I was there on retreat, our meals were curated and came with multiple courses; appetizers, mains, and dessert. Every plate was fresh, abundant, and absolutely delicious. Truly 5-star dining. The team also went out of their way to keep us comfortable during meals outdoors, bringing fans and burning copal to help with mosquitoes.

Together, they created a container that felt both intentional and spacious, weaving in the magic of Tulum while allowing us the freedom to rest or explore at our own pace.

Read moreI am really happy that we decided to spend our first week in Tulum in Lula Hotel. We got the warmest welcome to our vacation.
Caribbean Sea is what you see and hear through your room window, while having breakfast or lunch, during your yoga class or sunbathing. Hotel is right on the sea shore, so amazing view and photos are guaranteed.
Hotel is wellness oriented. You can meet lots of early birds watching a sunrise everyday, people meditating, discussing wellness or going to yoga and sound healing sessions.
The menu in Lula’s restaurant is also well rounded and balanced with various healthy and nutritious options to choose from. My personal favourite lunch-dinner option is teriyaki chicken bowl. It is not on the menu but they can make it to you, as this recommendation goes from lips to lips. And with breakfast menu you can try all the meals one by one each morning and will always get great food to start your day (ok, sandwich with chicken is out of this world).
If you compare Lula with some other hotels around it is definitely on the calm and chill side. No loud music or overnight parties, which for us was important. If you want to find a party though, they are all walking distance, and afterwards you will come back to a quiet place to have your rest.
Another shoutout to the best Yoga space in the world. You breathe and move while seeing and hearing sea waves all the time and after yoga you are obliged to a delicious healthy shot at the bar. Yoga teachers are caring, shows variations of poses and adapts whole routine to your level and needs.
Whole personnel in Lula is like family to you after couple of days. Always smiling, ready to help, have good conversations and make your stay a 5 star experience.
Room and other facilities were very clean all the time. We always had enough free drinking water at our room and in the evening we would always get some tea and sweets as part of room service.
Our stay at Lula felt like a vacation on steroids. Can’t remember the last time I was so relaxed and happy. And after almost two more weeks at Tulum and countless hotels and places visited I still think Lula was...
