Our room was dated with the main door to the room needing to be slammed in order to shut and balcony door handle practically holding on for dear life. The lights in the room were very bad with it feeling dingy. Our biggest concern was the water pressure and temperature when we wanted to take a shower. Sometimes it was fine and other times the water would dribble out the shower head and be cold. We did have a nice balcony (Room 440). However good luck sleeping if you have a room above the reception (main entrance area) as there is a club located in the basement below the reception which is open until 5am. One time me and my friend stayed out and stopped in the reception around 1-2 AM where you could feel the floor vibrating and the music coming from below was very loud.
This is the first time I`ve seen a cockroach in person and it has happened several times while being at the hotel for the week alongside the local cats (some have collars others not). So whilst having a meal or trying to sit by the pool expect a random cat to come give you some attention even in the restaurant.
The food was ok however most of the cuisine will be local with most of the time no option for something simple as pizza for dinner. The food was usually under-seasoned (salt and pepper) and very dry the pasta we`ve had has been undercooked and one dinner the lasagne pasta sheets were practically raw. The day of our flight I tried having some chicken and saw it was raw. The pastry and sweet treats on offer however are very nice. We always sat outside the restaurant which faced the promenade and for some strange reason you would be given only one set of cutlery and if you wanted to go and get another dish or try something else you'd have to keep your knife and fork that you just used.
When it comes to the bars I find it very strange how after the pool is shut both the indoor (open till 1AM) and outside (open till 11:30PM) one will only serve you in these old clear plastic cups which felt childish and cheap. Youd have to specifically ask it for your drink in a glass and sometimes you would be told "we have no more glasses". I would try my best to avoid the ice as I assume its made using tap water myself and a few other people that we met at the hotel have told us they've had the same problems of feeling slightly ill after consuming beverages with ice. When going to the bar if you plan on drinking cold beer you have to specifically highlight for it to be cold or youll be given a warm beer.
In terms of the pool it would be much nicer if it was slightly bigger however it does the job. Sunbeds dotted around during our stay were always claimed by people leaving them unattended and nowhere to be seen for hours luckily for us we only needed 2 and finding a space wasnt always so difficult. On our last day we couldnt get a umbrella to hide from the sun by the pool as most of them were claimed by people hanging clothing or bags with it being the same situation as with the sun beds. In terms of beach towels you would have to come at the allocated time when the worker is there otherwise you will not be given a towel no matter how many people wondering around there is. Considering how simple the system of writing down a room number and number of towels taken takes several seconds we were annoyed when told that the man responsible for that job is on a "break" or were told by another staff member "this is program" which baffles me how somebody can go on break for 2h and 30m and there is somebody there to do such a simple job.
The day before checkout we wanted to see if it would be possible to use a room prior to our transfer at 8PM to get cleaned up and good to go for a flight but we were told that the hotel is full and were told in reception that we can use the showers next to the pool which sounded absurd.
On the plus side the hotel is in a great location with a nice private beach if you want to relax. The security make sure nobody from outside the hotel get onto the premise which was great to see. The entertainment team also...
Read moreWe had a good time overall at Decameron Tafoukt. It started badly then picked up after a few room problems early on.
The rooms decable:
We booked 3 rooms for 9 nights for 7 people. Upon arrival, we were told that one of the room was unavailable so 4 of us needed to share. We were assured the room would be available the following day, which it was, so we are going to request a partial refund with sunshine holidays about this.
The real problems started when we entered room 130. The temperature. The air conditioning unit was an old fashioned heat pump that emitted quite warm air. It was just above the main pool bar so was noisy until around 1am.
We complained on the first night that the AC was broken and we were told it would be 'fixed'. It couldn't be fixed.
3 of us endured a loud, broken sleep. Having to keep the balcony doors open was essential but the temperature was still unbearable.
We asked for a new room the following morning due to the noise and temperature, but we're told it could happen that day, but it would DEFINITELY happen the following day (Day 3). In the end, we accepted one more night in the room with the addition of a fan. Slightly more bearable but still an uncomfortable sleep.
We went to change the room the next day and said could we come back tomorrow (Day 4) and have one more night in the room.
We were at the end of our tether and refused this outright. We complained that our holiday was being ruined by this inadequate room.
The room manager apologised and said she was trying to ensure we were close together in the same block. Not once had we requested this or said this needs to happen. We were happy being spread out we just wanted a good night's kip.
Then came a farcical situation where we moved to a smaller room than 130 that could not accommodate a 3rd person. We were told a new bed would be arriving shortly.
House keeping then came with the extra bed and said it doesn't fit. No ** Sherlock.
We then moved to a neighbouring small room and immediately complaine that an extra bed will clearly not fit a room of the same size.
We were getting irate at this point and finally we received an adequate larger suite with air conditioning towards the sea end of the hotel.
We were apologised to and told that some rooms hadn't finished being upgrading. So why offer them out???
The highlights:
Animation team, Sergio, Abdou, Amine and others made our stay memorable and enjoyable. Barry says hi Abdou!! We loved the stretching, aquagym and especially petanque (bowls) on the beach. The comedy show one evening was actually quite funny. This was tricky given the French/English language mix of the guests.
The Hotel Dance Team: Just WOW. We had 4 or 5 nights of dance performances from the dance team and they did not disappoint! It is so refreshing to have professional dancers attached to the hotel and putting on great performances for the audience. They even came in at dinner times to do little impromptu dances.
The Food:
A good selection of dishes and nice to see some roast pork occasionally and real bacon one morning. Grill stations great and ubiquitous omelettes good too. Snack bar near the beach that we didn't really use. There are two inclusive a la carte restaurants you can book but do this early on, not on the day.
Drink:
Wine, local spirits and cocktails included with all inclusive. A few Lovely Mojito cocktail and nice Stork Beer (bottled). I just wish the beer was consistently a bit colder all of the time.
Area:
Backs onto a private portion of the beach. No problems getting a lounger. Popular beach area. A few minutes from local shops and restaurants. About 10 minutes walk from currency exchange, about 15 minutes walk to the cable car up to the Kasbah. The marina is popular at night too. Grand Taxi was fixed price at 50 dirhams to Souk El...
Read more⭐ 1-Star Review: “Unsafe, Misleading, and Deeply Disappointing Experience at Royal Decameron Tafoukt Beach Resort”||||My name is James Brown, and I recently stayed at Royal Decameron Tafoukt Beach Resort (RA93) in Agadir, Morocco from October 6–13, 2025. What was supposed to be a week of rest and relaxation after traveling more than 24 straight hours from the U.S. turned into one of the most disappointing and concerning travel experiences of my life.||||When we first arrived, the front desk staff was polite and informed us our room wasn’t quite ready. That was fine. We were given wristbands to wear for the entire stay and invited to enjoy lunch. The lunch was pleasant, and for a brief moment, it felt like we were off to a great start. Unfortunately, things went downhill immediately after check-in.||||Once inside our room, everything appeared fine at first glance. However, when I attempted to take a shower, I discovered a long list of issues that were both unsanitary and unsafe. The bathroom was extremely small, old, and in poor condition—the shower tiles were worn and discolored, the door was missing a screw and wouldn’t close properly, and worst of all, the shower drain was completely clogged, causing water to overflow onto the bathroom floor. Within minutes, we had several inches of standing water pooling near the toilet. My wife had to use the restroom while literally standing in that water. After a full day of travel, this was not only frustrating but completely unacceptable.||||As if that wasn’t enough, things escalated into what I can only describe as a serious safety concern. Earlier that day, a man who introduced himself as an employee of the resort approached us and said he was responsible for helping guests schedule their excursions and activities. He reviewed our itinerary and noted that we had a couple’s massage scheduled for 6:00 PM. He then told us it had been moved up to 5:00 PM and that a shuttle would pick us up.||||At 4:45 PM, we waited as instructed and were picked up by a man driving an older Kia SUV. We were the only passengers. He assured us he was taking us to our massage appointment but said he needed to make a “quick stop.” That “stop” turned out to be at an Argan oil factory, where we were forced to sit through a sales presentation. Afterward, we were taken back to the resort and told another vehicle would soon take us to our massage—which never happened. It became clear that this was a scam, likely coordinated by someone representing themselves as part of the resort staff.||||This experience was not just inconvenient—it was deceptive and potentially dangerous. Being taken off property by someone under false pretenses in a foreign country is an experience no guest should ever endure.||||What made matters worse was the resort’s complete lack of accountability. I made over five separate attempts to speak with the resort manager to report these issues. On one occasion, a receptionist flatly refused to even tell me when the manager would be available. That level of indifference to guest safety and satisfaction is shocking and deeply unprofessional.||||Royal Decameron Tafoukt Beach Resort failed us on every level—cleanliness, honesty, communication, and above all, guest safety. I urge management and corporate leadership to investigate this incident immediately. This was not a misunderstanding; it was a serious breach of trust and a situation that could have easily ended much worse.||||I share this review not out of anger, but out of concern for the next guest who might unknowingly trust the wrong person under the resort’s name. No vacation should ever come with this...
