Review of Buddha Bar: A Cruise Ship Extravaganza with a Side of Comfort Food
Ah, Buddha Bar! A place where the vibe is as smooth as a well-shaken cocktail and the decor makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into a luxurious oasis. However, this particular location felt like I accidentally boarded a cruise ship—minus the sea legs and questionable buffet line. Perhaps it was the slightly older crowd that night, or the cabaret-themed stage show that had me feeling like I was about to set sail on a journey of entertainment.
Let’s talk about that cabaret! Each act was a delightful surprise, like finding an extra fry at the bottom of the bag. The singer had pipes that could rival a siren, and the dance troupe moved like they were born on the stage. Honestly, I half-expected them to break into a synchronized swimming routine right there on the floor!
And then there’s the DJ, who is nothing short of a musical magician. With a blend of tracks that had my feet itching to dance like no one was watching (even though everyone definitely was), it’s a wonder I didn’t pull a muscle from all the boogying.
Now, let’s chat about the food. It was good—like a warm hug from an old friend—without quite blowing my mind. But sometimes, that’s all you need, right? A plate of your favorite comfort dishes to keep you grounded while the entertainment whisks you away to a world of glamour and glitz.
So, if you’re in the mood for a night out that feels like a cruise—sans the seasickness—Buddha Bar is your destination. Just remember to bring your dancing shoes and a sense of...

I wanted to go for a drink with a Moroccan surfer friend. We passed the parking security and inside security without any issue, both of us well-dressed. However, once inside, things took a shocking turn.
At the entrance, the staff immediately started speaking to my friend in Arabic, completely ignoring me at first, even though I was the one suggesting we go for drinks there. They eventually let us in but gave him strange, unfriendly looks.
Then, at the stairs, a hostess stopped us and again started speaking directly to my friend in Arabic, completely ignoring me. She gave him a rude look, scanning him from head to toe. When I asked her to speak in English, she replied dismissively that it was “too late for drinks”—this, despite the bar still being open for another hour and plenty of people still sitting downstairs.
What shocked me most was when, in Arabic, she told my friend, “You are nothing.”
I cannot understand how it is possible to treat someone like this, especially their own people. When I previously visited Marrakech with a British friend (who was dressed in shorts), there was no issue entering.
When I asked this hostess for her name, she coldly responded that she “has no name.” No name, yet comfortable telling my friend he is nothing? What kind of people work here?
This is a high-priced establishment, and I expected educated and polite staff, not behavior like this. It’s...
Read moreI wanted to leave an honest review after dining at this restaurant. First off, let me say that the decoration and atmosphere were stunning everything was well designed, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. The place has a luxurious vibe that immediately pulls you in.
The service was polite and professional, and the show was genuinely entertaining a fun, vibrant experience that made the evening feel special. Based on ambiance alone, this would have been a 5-star place.
Unfortunately, the food was a completely different story. I ordered a cocktail, mashed potatoes, and steak simple enough. The meal tasted fine at the time, but within a few days I began feeling extremely unwell. Five days later, I was admitted to the hospital with severe food poisoning, and after extensive testing and discussion with doctors, they strongly believed it was linked to the meal I had here. I hadn’t eaten anything risky before or after.
This was not a minor stomach upset it was a serious health issue that left me weak, dehydrated, and in medical care. I was incredibly disappointed, especially since the rest of the evening had felt so promising. Food safety should never be compromised, no matter how beautiful a place looks or how great the service is.
Come for the show if you must, but I would strongly advise against eating here. Beautiful vibes can’t make up for what I went through and no meal is worth a...
