Described as a chambre-d’hote, we were offered a bedroom with heat and heavy blankets, no hanging space, a separate un heated bathroom without even a towel rail, a living room also with no heat. We were told to wait for the hot water but none arrived from about 4pm all night and when we left at 8 am. The restaurant was not on site and the owner insisted we immediately go there to place an order for the evening meal. The menu was unexceptional and the walk long and steep so we didn’t bother going. We had just arrived from Fès quite a long and bumpy trip. We asked about breakfast and it wasn’t available until 8am when we had to leave, so no breakfast, no hot water,…. So basically we got a bed, old blankets, a lot of rudeness and lies, as they insisted to the tour company that we didn’t wait long enough for the heat. Read moreI would definitively recommend this place for people who want to be in the heart of the city ... not even 3 mins walk to the main square and 5 to "Rass Elma" but still very calm at night.. I stayed with two of my friends in a very clean, tidy room ... we stayed there in January and we were worried we d not have enough blankets but that wasn't the case ... we also had a heater, clean towels , enough soap and toilet paper (that might be ridiculous to mention but some hotels in this city won't even provide such essentials.) the front desk girl is very nice and warm, she did her best to make us comfortable , made us an amazing traditional tea once we arrived , told us about the nice places we should nt miss, recommended nice restaurants where to eat and not feel disappointed... to sum it all up , our stay in this hotel made is better for us to enjoy the city ... We would definitely come back...
Read moreGreat location adjacent to the Medina. Room was clean and large and bed comfortable. Nice outdoor private balcony. Staff warm and welcoming though limited English. That's where it ends. ||Bathroom poor - taps that just spin around but eventually turn water on and off. Hand held shower rose as the wall attachmnet was broken. Toilet water has to be manually turned on/off after each use as the cistern leaks. The towels that were supplied appear to be always sun dried as they are old and rough. No sign of fabric softener in the wash ! Kitchen utensils, cups etc should be on sale in the Medina. ||This is the place to stay if you're more of a back-packer who can get by without...
