There are not many hotels in the heart of Bhaktapur old town, so this one's location is excellent. ||||Our room was incredibly spacious and comfortable and linen very clean. However, they make the same mistake as most hotels in this part of the world do. Only a doona is provided so you are either too hot or too cold. A sheet and a lighter blanket would be a better option.||||Staff are friendly and try to be very helpful but you can tell they are new at it and have much to learn. Their English also needs to be developed or at least have 1 or 2 staff with better English and more understanding of hospitality.I hope they do continue to improve as this hotel has heaps of potential. Housekeeping was good although we had to ask for it and there was a lot of hair on the bathroom floor which suggested it may be on the mop as it seemed very clean otherwise.||||There are many things that could be done to make this so much better. For example, laundry was done and was fine, but not folded at all; the bathrooms are tiny and there is absolutely nowhere to put things - a hook on the back of the door and another shelf would help and there is definitely need for drain freshners as they smell really bad. The toilet roll holder at door height makes it impossible to reach when you need it!||||Most of all, they need a new cook. We only ate breakfast here and it was almost inedible. The 'taco' was like a soggy rice pancake, the bread stale, the 'hash browns' drenched in oil, the scrambled egg OK, and the 'pancake' as tough as old boots and with just a tiny drizzle of chocolate sauce. Tea was hot and tasty.||||It feels like this place just needs someone to come in and advise them and teach them some skills and it could be...
Read moreA lovely place in a traditional house with Nawari architecture. Located in the centre of Bakhtapur, a few minutes walk from the Durbar Square. The owners are absolutely great and make you feel at home: nice, friendly and helpful in any matter. Room spacious, furnished with a cupboard. My dinner last night was truly delicious and made up to my individual needs with ingredients and spices. Don't miss their raksi (rice wine), made by the neighbour, served in a locally made little ceramic pot. I can really recommend this hotel and...
Read moreI visited this hotel for a tour with the owner and spent some time that afternoon. Lovely property, beautiful artwork. Family owned hotel managed by a really nice guy. The rooms are large by local standards, clean, and quiet, and the facilities are in a good location, although the streets in this area were fairly torn up when we visited. This happens in Kathmandu, and it’s hard to predict, but worth asking locals if you can before you arrive, since it can create some driving challenges if...
