I was with a small tour group, and ate lunch at the rooftop restaurant here. It affords a very nice view of the Durbar Square and of the Bhaktapur area in general. While enjoying our lunch, we were also treated to the sight of lots of kites flying from various rooftops. And the food was quite good -- especially the local specialty dessert yogurt.

Excellent and ideologically, historic framed guesthouse with the remarkable overview of ancient monument - Bhaktapur Durbar square . The rooftop with the straw hut shedded is just awesome to enjoy ur drinks and food overview of clear mountain ranges at north and green hills on south. Sunset at the evening makes your sip of drinks remarkable.

I tried the chilly momo and onion rings. Although chilli momo was quiet good, the so called onion rings were horrible and when i say horrible it's on a extreme level. Like bruh how am i supposed to pay 180rs for this?? 😭

Staying in Yatri (Thamel) we asked for advice wanting to visit Bakhtapur. The GM arranged KwapaCchen guesthouse for us (NL couple). After 3 1/2 weeks expedition, accident on last day, 7 days hospitals and clinics it was great to spend our last two days in Nepal in this beautifull city. After a long day (clinic) we arrived late in the evening, from our first entrance we were welcomed by Krish Dhami a young Nepali who has hospitallity running through his veins. Before you can think of a request he has already arranged it. The staff was so helpfull for my (wounded) wife, with pillows, cushions, hot water bottles, etc. It is a guesthouse so don’t expect fancyness, no TV etc. But you will stay in the centre of Bakhtapur, overlooking the main square. It is an authentic historical building, beautifull woodcarving. We had dinner on the rooftop, full moon, they had kept the kitchen open knowing our late arrival. Menu is divers, it is tasty, small portions, but you can order more (without additional pay). Krish arranged us a private tourguide who did a super job showing us around for total of 6 hours. The last morning before leaving for the Airport Krish helped me getting to a working ATM (11/2 h 7 attempts) because the could not accept credit cards (yet). We had a wonderfull stay! We...

Location is ideal, adjacent to the main gate to Darbar Square, with the rooftop overlooking the square with a view, too, of the Himalayas. Internet works, rooms are adequate, quiet, and clean, the staff is extremely friendly. Like many places in Bhaktapur, however, the food needs improving (they may have been short-staffed during my two-day visit, I guess, but the kitchen was chaotic, slow, and the food really bad). Nevertheless, I would recommend it as a good place to stay, you can then walk around Bhaktapur early in the morning and at dusk without the crowds of...
