Karuna Hotel Patan Kathmandu — Hotel in Lalitpur Metropolitan City

Had a really beautiful and special stay in a historic neighborhood here! I booked one of their apartments and it was spacious, beautifully furnished, and the bed was as comfy as a cloud. The rooftop lounge is a nice place for extra sun or watching sunset.

Staff are so kind and friendly and really go out of their way to make you feel at home. They even invited me to join in on a festival event!

The location can’t be beat - the hotel is literally next to a unesco heritage site (one of the ancient palaces) and there are a ton of beautiful rooftop cafes, foodie spots, and a historic bazaar, just steps away.

Note**: patan imo is the prettiest neighborhood in Kathmandu - it is known as the artists neighborhood, and full of murals and historic spots. It is much nicer than Thamel

The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Patan Durbar Square, as it was just a short walk away from the historic attractions and busy markets. Con: locates in residential area, street to hotel is narrow and tight and confusing for a taxi to reach. room is a bit too compact, and no aircon, and poor soundproofing (I heard water running from shower room above me for at least 20 mins at 11pm...) breakfast is a plate of 2 slice of toasts with eggs and a bowl of fruit, we just knew that morning coffee is not free at check out... renovated residential building with steep staircase, only good for traveller with...
