Hotel Tibet Home — Hotel in Pokhara

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Tibet Home for a few days around New Years, during a popular annual festival. The location was perfect because it was a quick walk to the Lakeside bars and restaurants, but also set back enough that we could get a great night of sleep without being concerned about late-night noise and crowds. The management was very nice and helpful, no issues. The property, along with our room, was clean and well-maintained, though we did come across a few ants roaming around on the wall inside. The room itself was cutely furnished and had all the basics we needed (table, chairs, closet, etc.). The mattress was a bit old, but certainly comfortable enough. Our room on the top floor also had a decent and generally consistent internet connection. Breakfast was included in our room and we enjoyed the food, which was basic eggs, toast, jam, juice, etc. The only downside to mention was the hot water. It's possible to rent a room with a hot water heater (presumably for a little more money), but many of the rooms run off solar heating (unavoidable among Pokhara budget hotels), so the availability of hot water was fairly limited based on the time of day. We stayed on the top floor. A vast rooftop space could be used to sit outside, there is a table/ chairs, with gorgeous mountains and lake view, and one more roof with sunbatteries, round veranda and benches, sun protected. The room is big, solid, has furniture, hot water. Minus- the rooftop is used for making hand laundry and sometimes there are smells of fried oil, which rise up from restaurant and burning garbage from somewhere in that area. I stayed at the Tibet Home Hotel prior to and after a short trek in the Pokhara valley...1 night before and 3 nights after. The hotel is operated by a friendly Indian family who do their utmost to provide hospitality. It is located a few minutes walk off the lakeside street scene. Room service is available but I opted for a pleasant breakfast in the sun on the lawn of the front garden. Water is hot, rooms are clean, bedding is fresh, price is reasonable. ...
