I read the bad reviews and the owner’s unfriendly replies that made me hesitate to put on a review. But then I decide to put one, here I am, hopefully wouldn’t receive an unpleasant reply.

We are two girls which don’t eat a lot, and I explained this before we ordered: rendang kambing sate ayam white rice spekkoek (desserts, which is layered cake with vanilla ice cream)

The food I think is precooked just as the reviews said, but understandable, because I wouldn’t expect beef dishes with rendang paste will be ready in ten or twenty minutes. But my daughter had a diarrhea the day after (I didn’t know if it’s because their food because I am totally okay, but maybe I had lived in Indonesian for years and I will recommend non Indonesian people to reconsider especially if you have a weak stomach which my daughter doesn’t usually) The atmosphere is tensed and strange, you feel like they’re rushing to serve the table, the food and everything that makes me feel kind of uncomfortable. The service : the tall male waiter seemed so serious, which add even more to the strange vibe. Though they keep asking: is everything good?

Overall the portions and the prices are really okay for us. The meal was fine to us especially when I missed Indonesian food so much, but I won’t expect it to be authentic to be in Europe. I wish the best for the owner though because in the replies of the reviews he mentioned a lot that they had served 30 years here.

Btw my daughter had taken two imodium and is still suffering from diarrhea while waiting for the pills to work. Best wishes too for her 😂

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...

Was extremely excited to try some Indonesian food in Amsterdam. After being unable to get into a spot that was recommended to us, we stumbled across this place and thought given the reviews it would be pretty good.

The food itself, was ok, it tasted fine, but we all agreed definitely not worth the price tag, comparing to similar restaurants alike.

For 5 people we paid around 160 euro, no alcohol, we just ordered water for the table… The water ended up being 5 euro for a bottle, which we question whether the bottles are just filled up with tap water, as there was “no click” when the waiter opened it. Felt quite steep especially in a city with perfectly fine tap drinking water.

I have seen a couple comments regarding the service being a bit scattered and we couldn’t agree more. When going to pay, we did ask if we could split (which we were perfectly fine not to split 5 ways), however the owner became quite annoyed that we even asked this, saying “there’s only 1 of me”. For those prices you’re charging, perhaps you can pay for another staff member?

He did let us split two ways, however to hammer in the point how busy he was, he ignored us in between the two payments. Even when paying by card, he quite aggressively waved the machine at me to hold, so he could go and serve another table.

All in all, a rather disappointing experience for what could have been a really nice meal. This place has potential, so if they want to be charging the amount they do, the place could do with a real face lift and a good old course in...

Awful experience!! I went to this restaurants with some friends to enjoy a night of indonesian cuisine, and what we received was the complete opposite. After a long waiting time, when our food finally arrived we notice that our dishes are cold! when asking the waiter about it, they didn't even apologize, they took the place with them and came back after a few minutes with the same plate (which led us to think they had just put it in the microwave), we try to avoid that initial bad moment, but when we started eating we found a hair in one of the dishes, again we let the waiter know about the problem, and at first there is no reaction until we ask if they could bring a new plate. When receiving the THIRD plate, the food again looked like it came out of the microwave, the food was extremely dry and tasteless, so we barely ate from that 20 euro nasi goreng dish. We asked if they could take it out of the bill, as we had several problems with this dish, and at the end we left it nearly untouched, and the waiter started shouting to us.

It was sadly terrible experience in our weekend trip...

Food quality was very tasty, portions are on the samller side (Javanese cake at €7,50 for three bites of cake), ambiance was quite nice...certainly advisable to book in advance. Many people waited a long time to order or even get a table. The owner + a young waiter were certainly busy, seemed slightly disorganized. The table next to us waited a long time for service. At the end of the meal, they were asked to leave quickly as other customers needed their table. When we arrived, the owner initially showed us a nice table by the window. When he saw we were with kids, we were given the table by the door. All in all, good food, but the service did not feel hospitable.

We ordered chicken satay and lupia as appetizers. The peanut sauce was the most flavorful I've ever had. For main courses we ordered a salty beef sauce, a duck dish and a coconut rice with a sample of a few items (in the attaches photo). The beef was tender and flavorful. The duck was cooked well and had a few tasty and crispy parts. The coconut rice had a nice depth of flavor. All in all my favorite meal of our trip. The wait staff were kind and courteous. My only complaint would be not having enough water refills as it was a very hot day. Loved this meal!!
