Off Broadway Motel — Hotel in Albert-Eden

Great location and a very very comfy bed. Check in was fast. Unfortunately the place is really, really tired and run down. It's in desperate need of a refurbishment. Room had no proper kitchenette, the shower door leaked terribly so the tiles were always sodden and the "spa bath" in the "executive suite" we booked hadn't worked in quite sometime. Main Light switch in bathroom wired to loud extractor fan. One light above mirror not working so was quite dark. Lounge Room was cramped and full of mish mash furniture. Other tenants smoking in the building which stunk so bad, loud voices and someone yelling in the room above us. Quite a let down considering the price point.

However, despite the negatives this was also the most comfortable bed we had on our entire trip. Super king and glorious. We could also walk up the road to the mall for dinner. It wasn't the worst place I've stayed but I don't think I'd be back nor recommend it to others. The reason I gave it higher than a single star is the bed was awesome, the manager was friendly...

Booked here for 2 nights based on reviews. Parking is very tight, but with guidance, you can get your car in, just let passengers out first. The elevator to 3rd floor room had an odd, unpleasant odour. Narrow hallway with some stains on carpet but clean. Room was a pleasant surprise-clean, spacious, and well equipped. Room was serviced well each day of stay too. Balcony was nice even though roof needed cleaning and had large lichen growth. Had an old drying frame which was good for towels. Slept well even with proximity to motorway| Now the not so good- this appears to be an MSD motel - police present first day, loud arguments every day which spilled out onto street, undesirables hanging over 2nd floor balcony smoking, and men with minimal clothing on in Foyer and hanging around outside. Whilst it did not directly affect us, we did not feel completely safe and would not stay again...

We (2 adults, 1 child) stayed in a large suite, top floor with a balcony and view of Ōhinerau/Mt. Hobson as well as the city bound motorway. Loved our views 🤩. The room was clean, comfy and inviting after our wet activities with Auckland Adventure Jet. Great shower pressure with instant hot water and all linen was crisp and clean. The staff and service team were all friendly, very respectful and attentive to our requests. The location was perfect for us. Less than 15mins drive via gps to all the main city attractions ie. Sky Tower, Auckland Museum, Auckland Observatory, Viaduct etc and easy access in and out, considering Auckland traffic! Also, no parking fees to stay here! 👍 This was a great base for our whānau/family to rest between activities and adventures....
