Where do I start… we found this place on Qantas hotels so thought it must be decent, but I thought we might have the wrong hotel when we first arrived. The photos online look nothing like reality.
The only positives about this hotel are the location, comfy bed, clean linens and fairly quiet room so we slept well. The lady who greeted us at reception was nice but didn’t even check ID or tell us anything when we checked in, just handed us the room key.
Everything else leaves so much to be desired. The car park and surrounds are filthy and the hotel backs on to empty lots which make it look even more dodgy, if that’s possible. Garden area is overgrown and not maintained.
There is also a restaurant that shares the ground level and it shows. The car park shares dumpsters and the restaurant guests park in the hotel parking spaces meaning there were two nights out of the 3 when we returned back to the hotel and couldn’t park in the lot. The lobby also smells like a kitchen.
The interior of the hotel is not much better. Stained carpets, chipped paint, bags of linen lying around on the floors. Our room floor had dirty rubbish bags sitting by the lift for 2 days. Most of the security doors either don’t open/close properly or are propped open so anyone can just come and go (which we witnessed on multiple nights).
The room itself was what you’d expect for the price per night. No plugs near the bed, lights not working (the only lamp in the room wasn’t plugged in and didn’t even have a bulb in it), stained carpets and furniture. TV also not plugged in, no idea if it even worked as we didn’t test. The bathroom came equipped with plenty of mould, zero water pressure and fluctuating water temp, complete with a shower door that doesn’t shut so you’d step out onto a drenched bath mat after every shower. Also no basics in the room like a phone, toilet roll holder (or extra toilet paper), tissues, or a hand towel.
If you’re just after a bed to sleep in for a cheap rate, this would do, but you would get better value for money elsewhere I’m sure. Wouldnt...
Read moreWhen we arrived late to the hotel after long trip from Europe they informed us that they are overbooked and our room is not available, and they took us to another room in the different building. They took us through cluttered backyard to the building which appeared to be not a hotel, but another builing which certainty wasn't a hotel. The room we've gotten was nothing like we booked - it had only bed and that's all! No single chair, closet or anything. We booked room with air condition, flat tv, sofa, electric kettle, hairdryer and plenty of other facilities that appeared to be misleading description. Obviously the room pictures in booking.com was presenting totally different room versus what they gave us.
But it wasn't the worst! The room we've gotten stinked, was dirty, uncleaned - full of spidersweb, stains and even the blank sheets were foul with suspicious stains! The bathroom was messy, dirty mirror, fungous shower and ventilator was taped! The whole building smelled and was sickly. We were afraid to touch anything there. This room was likely in the employees' house with much worse conditions than the hotel's rooms. Howcome you can put your hotel guests to employees' house?
When we raised a claim to get a room we should receive no one from the hotel even replied and obviously reception desk was already closed! They didn't inform us about unavailability of the booked room in advance even though they contated us earlier to ask what time we arrive so we couldn't react in advance. They blamed booking.com that it was booking's mistake to offer their room available despite being fully booked! When we asked booking.com for a full refund for this scam they answered it is not possible without hotel's approval which obviously they didn't agree on! Cheaters, be aware...
