We had a lovely stay here before our flight to Auckland, staying in a king room with a spa bath. The chap at reception offered to help with our luggage and explained how the room worked - all the staff were sweethearts. We are used to city hotels so although it was smaller than a number of places we stayed in NZ, that wasn't a surprise. Storage may be an issue if you were staying multiple nights but I managed to completely repack four suitcases so it is definitely manageable. The bed was firm but that suits both me and my husband. The decor is a little quirky but that is the perk of staying in an independent hotel. I had an amazing bubble bath (bath bombs kindly provided) with a glass of wine to reset before we continued our travels. It is about 15 mins walk through a safe area into the main town which was nice along the river. The perk of staying slightly further out is the free private car park. We had our own supplies so skipped breakfast so can't comment on that.

Had an amazing stay here last week. I didn’t have a reservation so walked in and served by Minnie. I was well informed about the luxury and business class rooms. Booked 2 nights in a luxury room. Minnie showed me to the room and walked me through everything I needed to know. The room was spotless, bed comfortable and an awesome bathroom. My flight was cancelled so needed to extend my stay by two more nights, spoke to Minnie and she was amazing, the room I was in was already booked so she managed to move me to another luxury room and took care of everything for me, she made my stay at the Salisbury hotel absolutely awesome. I’d like to thank her for her great work and for making my stay in Christchurch perfect. Both rooms were sensational, I’ll post a few pics. Location is great and they also offer free Parking that I required. Thank you

This Hotel is Charming gem Christchurch can be proud to have this standard off hotel handy to the CBD and not a big chain hotel but big on warmth character and great value. Minnie was a great first impression with a big warm smile and so helpful, my requests and questions were sorted out so nicely. Jun was my breakfast host and he was friendly and I can tell takes pride in his work also, the cooked breakfast was yummy with eggs just how I like them, the fruit selection one off the best I’ve seen varied and well presented fresh. The character and decor off this gem is so much fun a mix off glitter, sparkles and color off set with mirrors and accents I love it based on classic white and black ❤️ I felt at home so much I decided not to try any others and booked another few nites. Well done AAA+++ Highly recommend

This hotel was the worst experience ever. Absolutely do not recommend for many reasons. ||||The hotel from the outside looks luxurious but trust me when I say it is not. ||||Situated on the corner we were awoken one night to a prostitute screaming right outside our window. ||||The owners are foreign and can hardly speak English. Extremely abrupt and rude on phone. ||||Upon check out we were told via phone call that we had damaged the curtains and ripped them from the wall and we were charged $200. ||||It was a two night stay and we only pulled the curtains once… and we noticed it had already fallen off and I said to my partner it looked cheaply built. We also noticed the spa bath had a new cable just hanging out as apparently it was faulty and was in process of being repaired.||||When we discussed this with the owners they said we should have done an inspection as soon as had checked in and reported any damage to them….. this is not normal for a hotel. Who does a full inspection of their hotel room…. Oh sir there is some dust in the shower… come on. ||||When we confronted management about the damage they accused us of (side curtain rails likely faulty when installed) we were abused and advised photos would be sent through of before and after yet it’s 4 days on my credit card has been charged and. No proof received as promised. Also why would you have before photos of the curtains…. The damage was 100% caused before our check in and I assume the owners are just trying to cover costs by accusing the next guests. ||||When we discussed with management we advised we would leave feedback and a review of our stay (mindful this is the 4th time staying at this property but believe it’s now under new management) we were threatened if we left a negative review our personal details WOULD be posted on social media (this was stated by the duty manager I believe is the owners wife) and that we would be put on some black list for Australia and New Zealand. They threatened to also take us to court. ||||To be honest it’s disappointing on this experience as you can see the property is extremely cheaply built and the new owners seem to keep the bond from check in to keep the ongoing maintenance to their property. ||||The owners also cancelled our booking.com booking when we checked out in order to not have to pay booking.com commission. ||||Beware of all of this when booking this property. ||||End of the day it’s only $200 not a great deal for a regular traveler especially to us but as soon as the owners started to threaten us with releasing our personal details and black listing is for leaving a review I knew we had to warn other guests.||||Here are some more points for you to review before choosing to stay here||||Cleanliness leaves much to be desired. ||||The sheets on the bed looked like they had enjoyed a long career in a particularly messy and degrading part of the adult film industry. ||||If there is an opposite to memory foam then that is how the beds are. ||||The hotel lobby smells like urine and wild cats are running...

We stayed 8 nights at this hotel. We were in the duplex room. The toilet is on the ground level with a open storage area for luggage and coats. Beds and kitchen facilities are upstairs. This became a problem when one of the child had a foot injury during our trip. ||||The room/beds were comfortable, relatively spacious, free wifi and well equipped for eating in. There was netflix available to keep the kids entertained in the evening. Daily servicing was fairly well done. Although not in the advertisement, laundry facilities are available $7 for both washing and dryer and additional if you need laundry powder. The staff are friendly and always asks about what you've been up to. It is located quite close to most of the tourist attractions. And is within walking distance to the Margaret Mahy Playground. There is a 24 hours surgery and a pharmacy 450m walking distance away. ||||A couple minor inconvenience include, limited on site parking. If the parking is full, there is an over flow car park but you need to leave before 8am the next day. As most of the rooms are on the first floor. The only access to the first floor is by stairs only. This wouldn't have been a problem except we had a child with an injured foot part way...

Not happy with this facility on multiple counts. Most importantly, it seems they try their best to extract additional money out of the guest as well as the agent. ||So we made the booking via booking.com. Once we arrived at the facility, they charged the card, and then without warning to us, cancelled the booking via the booking.com portal. On checkout when we asked why, they gave a silly reason, and it is likely they cheated booking.com to avoid paying them a commission.||Next, we booked for 7, but advised the reception before arrival that we had an additional child we wanted to include. They said they would charge an additional $35 a night, but this would be without any bedding, beds, etc. So the additional charge was without a reason!||We took the 3 BR apartment. The entry surprisingly is from a bedroom, so very poor design as to get out and in one must go through someone else’s private space. One bedroom is without heating, one is without bathroom, and one is without external access. ||The property is at a good location. The rooms are well presented. The communication from the hotel in general was good. But they need to stop trying to extract money out of guests and...
