Read moreIn my honest opinion this is the most beautiful theatre in all of New Zealand for so many reasons. From the moment the Isaac Theatre comes into view as you turn into Gloucester Street you know you are in for a special evening. It looks stunning lit up at night, and the layout is simple yet effective, with a fully stocked bar conveniently located to your right as you walk in the door.
Entering the theatre itself sends chills down my spine every time, the decor is simply awe inspiring. As time progresses so does the theatre, with the lighting improving show upon show, and the acoustics are second to none. I have experienced concerts such as Lorde through to Comedic evenings with The Topp Twins, and of course live theatre performances, with all of them suiting the venue superbly.
The seating is comfortable enough, and the ushers are all equally helpful and their passion for theatre is prominent as they guide you through to your seat, you can tell they all simply love working there.

Read moreThis is a beautifully restored theatre and I have been here numerous times since its reopening; I was inspired to after attending Sir Ian McKellen's fund raising tour for this theatre in 2012 that he so enjoyed performing at previously.
The engineering precision taken to achieve optimum seating plans for viewing, on three tiers, are quite remarkable and, similarly, hide earthquake proof construction behind the scenes, to safeguard the building for many years to come.
With excellent access for wheelchairs, a new lift system and bars available on all three levels, it is a gem of a theatre.
I have enjoyed every type of show here, from large scale West End productions, to comedians and musical concerts - the latest being Elaine Page and her jazzy band, just two days ago. Add wonderful acoustics to the mix and this theatre deserves every touring show it can attract and all the patrons it can...
