Bolina Indian Sweets and Restaurant is a pure vegetarian restaurant that serves delicious, flavorful Indian food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they are always happy to make recommendations. The prices are reasonable, and you can get a delicious meal for a good price.
I've tried a variety of dishes on the menu, and everything I've had has been excellent. My favorites include the lamb vindaloo, the chicken tikka masala, and the butter chicken. The naan is also excellent, and the chutneys are delicious.
One of the things I love most about Bolina is that it is a pure vegetarian restaurant. This means that all of the food is made without any meat, poultry, or fish. This makes it a great option for vegetarians and vegans, as well as anyone who is looking for a healthy and flavorful meal.
Overall, I highly recommend Bolina Indian Sweets and Restaurant. It's a great place to enjoy delicious Indian food in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Here are some specific things I loved about Bolina:
The food is absolutely delicious. I've never had a bad meal there. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. It's a great place to go for a casual meal or a romantic dinner. The restaurant is vegetarian, which makes it a great option for people with dietary restrictions.
If you're looking for a great Indian restaurant in Christchurch, I highly recommend Bolina. You won't be...
Read more❤️️ The most amazing taste sensation. Vegetable Manchurian (Dry), the sauce is so good, you will need extra Roti to mop the bowl clean. Make sure your dish comes with a good portion of sauce. This has the texture and taste of Swedish meatballs, but 100% vegetables and just better IMHO. I defy anyone to make a better tasting meatball.
❤️️ I love mushrooms and their stuffed mushrooms are the best I have tasted in very very long time. Excuse my Kiwi ignorance, but I think they are stuffed with their Aloo Mutter (I will ask them next time), crumbed, then deep fried. They are not greasy or oily, and the explosion of tastes as you bite into them. They are juicy, the mushroom is firm, the coating is crisp and the filling just adds a whole new dimension to such a complimentary range of tastes. Make sure you ask for your mushrooms to be CRUMBED.
❤️️ The "Thali Plate", our preference is Thali Plate #1 (2 x Roti) vs the #2 which is 1 x Naan. Generous portions and just so so good. I really can't say enough about these plates and the best value for money in Christchurch. If you want to experience the freshest and perfectly cooked paneer dish, then you should experience it here, you won't be disappointed.
For the 2 of us, our meals work out to 17.75 pp. Stuffed Mushrooms, Veg Manchurian, Thali Plate #1 and a Bread Pakora ($2.50).
My apologies to all the other Indian restaurants, but this place is too...
Read moreYou can almost disregard the stars. I'll try describe my latest experience: a cool cloudy otautahi winter outside. 12pm. Enter the dim atmosphere that's a mix of industrial (brick themed wall, iron caged hanging lamps) and regal (gold floral wall, overall gold tone thanks to excellent lighting) to a warm indian backing track. Greeted with a smile, welcome, shown a seat. I start with the Indian chai. Well spiced and creamy. The menu is solely vegetarian which might lose a few people. In my opinion, although meat is delicious in Indian cuisine, people appreciate the range of flavours and stretchy soft naan. The meat texture is replaced by grilled cheese, mushroom, cauliflower, capsicum and I think almost match the desired effect of meat. Just not quite. I had the paneer tikka masala (medium heat), with plain naan. Fresh flavours and rich sauce with a perfect (no exaggeration) consistency. This place is very well known for its samosa around here with a delicious bbq type sauce to dip into. They do not skint on amount of sauce. 5/5 delicious and warm atmos. Relaxed but...
