Pacific Motor Inn Mount Maunganui NZ — Hotel in North Island

Surpisingly a great place. I usually avoid motels or motor inns but our options were limited at this time of year. It doesnt look like much from the outside but the room and service were impecible. The room itself was huge, maybe 3-4x bigger than a standard hotel, and super clean. Well equipped too, with the usual lage bed, TV and wifi, but also a wee kitchen with some basic supplies. Overall fantastic, comfortable, everything you need. On the downside, we paid over $200 NZD for just the 1 night which is not the cheapest, the pool is tiny as well but the beach is a 5min walk...

The upside to this place is location and management. Location is prime should you want easy access to restaurants and other "night-life facilities". Everything else is a short drive away. Management is lovely.

The room is very standard. Clean. But basic at best. It doesn't have carpet, so for those who aren't mobile on their feet, it can feel quite slippery. The amenities are fine.
