Star Cottages — Hotel in South Island

This lodge was secluded and easy to find. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We appreciated the extra pillows and blankets provided as it was chilly that evening. We were able to take some stunning pictures not too far from the lodge since it was in the dark sky reserve. ||||Our only complaint was the fridge made a loud clicky/grinding sound. We ended up putting the two things we had in the fridge, putting them in a cooler on the porch and unplugging the fridge so that we could sleep without the noise. ||||One improvement I'd suggest is adding another pan to the kitchen. There were plenty of pots but only one pan which made it tricky to cook...

The room was nice and the bathroom great with one of the better showers we have encountered. The 500 metre walk down to the centre is easy although in the winter you may need a to have lighting of some sort. The cottage has a fridge and microwave but does not have a kitchen sink. Baggage storage would have been beneficial,...
