I've been a Nordic customer from the days of Nordic Villa at Jabi to when you opened the Hotel at Mabushi in Abuja, and now a location in Lagos. It's amazing that all through my 7 years of staying with them, I don't have any complaint and when an issue is raised, they ensure to see to it immediately.
I had my birthday at Nordic last week and I must say that it was one of the best birthdays I've ever had. I was cajoled by the manager Mr Abrahm to go for breakfast as I didn't feel like it, not knowing they haddd something planned. While seating confused as I was spoiled for choice on what to have for breakfast, the team with the head chef came singing birthday song with the yummiest black forest cake with chocolate glaze and a birthday candle. Oh my daze!!! I was pleasantly surprised and I felt so special. Thank you Nordic for this show of love, I'm really grateful. My birthday was off to a good start because of you guys.
The staff at the hotel were really nice as usual and they paid attention to details even the housekeeper became my good friend at some point. One thing I like Nordic for is the bespoke service you receive, it feels as though you are their only customer and they need to ensure they give you their undivided attention.
If you are a Nordic Abuja fan, Abuja has nothing on Lagos, you should visit and see the difference for yourself.

Read moreStayed for approximately a week on a business trip. The hotel itself is clean and the decor is nice but it falls short on service. The car service we booked through the hotel for airport pickup wasn't very good: very old cars that smelled of gas/fuel and very expensive. Breakfast was okay. The restaurant was also okay, though the menu is limited and is the same every day. Utilizing the meeting rooms is what posed quite a challenge. We would give a time we needed it ready and for how many meeting guests. They were never on time. 2-3 meetings a day for approximately 6 days, and not once was the room ready on time. They are setting up glasses and water, coffee and snacks with a full room interrupting a meeting. Even if we told them 30 minutes earlier than the actual time, they were still late. Closer to the end of our stay, my colleagues and I just began setup ourselves. I was charged for each takeaway box I was given, and when I didn't use them all, the restaurant took them back, though I was still charged. Very little was done with purpose or urgency. The clear disregard for the decency of not interrupting or being disruptive to active meetings was lacking. The room I was in also had a smell.. I think it's from mopping with water that wasn't fresh. 2 of my colleagues' rooms had a similar smell but more faint. Another colleague had to switch rooms as it was pungent and unbearable. I think some more training is required, as well as supervision. Not sure how one demands a tip for a room setup when by theast 2 days, my colleagues and I did setup and takedown.
