ART CAFE — Restaurant in Lagos State

AVIOD THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT TO WORK FOR MORE THAN 1-2hrs! I will recommend it, if it’s a quick lunch or outing but if you are a somebody looking for a cafe to chill, munch on something and work, I will advise you Avoid this place but if you have to go there, don’t spend more than 1-2 hours, unless they will embarrass you at the end. Once you get there, if you are not white or look expensive the waiters will be on your neck based on their manager’s instructions to order something, they won’t even let you settle in properly. You have to spend atleast 20k if you staying over 2hrs and if you don’t spend that much they will add 10k to your bill. THERE ARE NO SIGNS INFORMING YOU OF ANY OF THESE EXTRA CHARGES, SO BEWARE! It used to be great there till they hired this very rude chic as the manger. I went there to work recently and they said it was 10k minimum spend, fast forward 4 days later they charged me extra 10k even after spending more than 10k, when I asked the manager why I was being charged an extra 10k she said it was now 20k minimum and she became aggressive and started talking to me in a condescending tone. The food is satiating, filling and tasty, their menu is simple and well done. The lasagne was good, it was just a standard beef lasagne, no frills but hit the mark well.

Their mocktails, smoothies and millshakes were really the stars of the show for me (unfortunately, not all pictured). I’ll be back for those alone, definitely worth the try!

The service was great - fast and friendly, staff are fairly knowledgable on the menu (drinks) and made the visit worthwhile.

Great ambience, the space itself is unique and stunning in an abstract way, I would recommend you sit outside in the evening as it really tops the inside and the ambience created is effortlessly lovely, calming and fairly unique. The music? Made the night even more enjoyable, we didn’t want to leave! Great selection of music which improved the overall ambience.

The restrooms are clean.

The cost was fair, average price of drinks were ₦‎6-8k and the food menu is fairly priced also.

All in all, worth a visit. It has improved greatly since my first visit in 2019 and I’ll be looking forward to...

Customer service was okay. My bladder didn't pressure me surprisingly, so I didn't get to experience what the convenience was like. I was in love with the various art pieces here and there.

I had grilled Tilapia fish which I didn't like by the way because it tasted like it was seasoned with Suya spice. My taste buds just kept saying 'O wrong' ,'O wrong now' . I had to accompany it with the sauce provided to make it work. I felt it was too dry on the outside ,almost like smoked fish.

I loved the sides though . The sweet potatoe,yam and dodo(which I didn't eat because I'm not a fan. Apologies,plantain lovers).

The Coconut smoothie hit just right. I'll have a little less ice though .

There's free WiFi which I didn't use but saw a notification that stated this on the wall somewhere .

There's a smoking area too. And oh, did I mention that they kept wiping the tables with 2sure sanitizer and a towel after customers tables were cleared ? That warmed my heart. Good to see that they were still taking precautions considering the Corona virus .
