This hostel was recommended to us by someone at a discount hostel. Due to this recommendation and the fact that it was low season, we were able to get our matrimonial room for $20. The rooms are usually $30. It has a good location, beautiful courtyard, and spacious rooms. Unfortunately, the service is lacking. The 2 main desk people we encountered tried to sell us tour packages and hostel rooms in other cities. When we asked for towels, we were told to wait and finally after several hours, they found us small hand towels to use for showering. Eventually, they did give us large towels near the end of the night. We were in room 108 and the bathroom floor was always wet. The shower did not drain very well. When we flushed the toilet, it would drain all over the floor. When we notified the front desk about this, they were not to be bothered and told us to wait. The breakfast is ok...bread, butter, jam, tea/coffee. However, I would not recommend spending full (and even discount) prices at this hostel. We left after one night. There are several better and cheaper hostels...
Read moreWorst Hostel /hotel ever!!!! Don't go there!!! The room is nice, but the staff is really bad. Whenever you ask or need something (for example toiletpaper) they give you a look as though you where asking something stupid (by the way: only one roll of toiletpaper a day! Great idea if your ill with diarea!!!). They wanted to charge me for a cup of tea for my sick husband, even though the water was only warm (other Hostels will give you as much tea as you like, especially when someone is ill!). ||When I told them, that the water was cold, they simply said no it wasnt. I had to tell them twice, until they did something about it. The same happened with the remote control. They simply look in you face and tell you, no, its working.... but it isnt. And they don't even bother to check or to stay: "ok, I'll see what I can do about it"!!! I got really cross with them... after all, Im not stupid and I don`t like beeing treated as...
Read moreOk, We got into town and had a guy from the bus station tell us about this great place to stay. The place looked OK at first but we soon learned that the hotel has NO hot water and the rooms are dirty. The toilet leaked on the bathroom floor so it was wet with water or pee all the time. The floors are rotten. After the front desk told us to run the water for 15 min. Nothing ever happen. The bathrooms have a sewer smell. We ended up checking out that night and went 2 doors down from them and got a hotel with hot water, free coffee and tea 24hrs for the same price. Look around you will find better. This place is just falling apart and you can see the owner is not putting money back into his place. Oh one more thing the WiFi only works...
