After having a mishap with my travel agency booking us a couple nights at a dingy “hotel”, I was forced to search for a different and more comfortable accommodation last minute and stumbled upon this hotel. It checked off every standards on my list and more! I was so happy that they had a room available for us so last minute. It’s in its soft opening stage so everything was basically brand new, clean, and the interior is minimal meets nautical filled with lush greenery. The common spaces are so well thought out with comfy furnitures and bean bags!! Perfect for bigger group gatherings and hang outs. What’s even better is that each floor had water cooler tanks to refill our bottles before a long day of island hopping or beach bumming. The rooms were clean and spacious, modern interior and I love that the sink is separate from the toilet/shower area so there’s no waiting if travelling with big groups. Beds and pillows were super comfortable, hands down had one of the best sleeps there in the whole week of our Palawan getaway. Location was also top tier as it was only a few minutes away from town and far enough for peace and quiet (perfection). However, the icing on the cake was the front desk ladies (shoutout to Jillian), we were greeted so warmly from our first step into the hotel until our last. Jillian was so genuine, personable, and super understanding of our situation. She always made sure we were taken care of and honestly felt like I was catching up with a friend every time I see her at the front. I can rave all day about this hotel but all in all I 100% recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable, clean and...

If you’re planning a trip to El Nido, Palawan and still looking for a hotel, I highly recommend Barco El Nido! We stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights, and it was such a convenient and pleasant experience.
The location is perfect — walking distance to El Nido Main Beach, Town Square, restaurants, and bars. It’s also right along the highway, so it’s very accessible whether you’re walking or riding a trike.
The hotel has an aesthetic vibe both inside and out. There’s an elevator, wide stairs, a lounge area with bean bags on every floor, and a spacious pantry where you can hang out or buy snacks and drinks.
We booked the Superior Queen Room with breakfast for ₱3,860. The room was clean, spacious, and complete with all the hotel essentials — towels, toiletries, separate shower and restroom, working desk, smart TV with Netflix, cabinets, aircon, and even a ceiling fan. Super comfy and ideal for two guests with lots of luggage.
There’s also a Standard Queen Room with breakfast for ₱3,560, which is smaller and doesn’t have a separate shower and toilet.
Breakfast was good, and if you prefer to eat out, the staff will gladly send nearby food recommendations via WhatsApp. You can even book your tours through them, or via Klook using a discount code.

Read moreA fantastic experience at El Barco Hotel! The staff were friendly and accommodating. We stayed at a quadruple room-with 2 bunk beds. Although the room is not big, it is decent and adequate space for luggage and moving around. The room was spotless, with clean beddings and sheets, and the bed and pillows were wonderfully comfortable. After a long day of exploring, sinking into a cozy bed was pure bliss!
I also appreciated the good water volume in the shower – a small detail that makes a big difference!
Another convenient feature is the water dispenser on every floor, making it easy to stay hydrated throughout our stay.
Only lowlights are No hair dryer and room slippers, and Wifi could be improved as sometimes you cannot connect to it.
The hotel's location is unbeatable, just a 2-3 minute walk to the El Nido town square. There are plenty of great places to eat, from charming cafes to delicious restaurants - which are mostly open and lively during night time, with lots of options for evening entertainment. Plus, there are numerous shops/kiosk offering unique souvenirs so you don’t need to go to the souvenir shops - where the prices are a bit more expensive, near the El Nido Public Market, and still a 10-15mins tricycle drive (100php fare).
Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and if you prefer the quieter place to stay, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone...
