SCAM ALERT for Inngo Hotel.
Please watch out in regards to their island hopping tour packages. Especially from an individual here named Cris Montecino. In El Nido, you’re suppose to pay what’s called an Eco-Tourism Development Fee (or EDTF). This P200 fee applies for all outdoor island/ocean related activities which you do in the area with a validity of 10 days.
I was told by the tourism office and our dive shop that this EDTF number which you pay for should be given to you after you first pay for it. They refused to give the numbers of my friends and I for the next 5 days. I was told from the dive shop that they were probably running a common scam where they attain the P200 pesos from hotel guests and pocket the money and re-use the EDTF number of another guest when booking island hopping tours.
I found out about this requirement from our dive shop when they called our hotel to attain our EDTF numbers but the individuals on the phone couldn’t give a straight answer. After 15 minutes of useless calling, we decided to pay again the P200 since the boat was leaving. Upon getting back to the hotel, I texted Cris Monecino about the fee and us double paying and demanded our money back since they couldn’t give us our numbers after calling them. He refused..and then came up with the excuse to their paying guests (we were there for 5 nights) that “I was in the restroom when you called.” and “Why didn’t you walk back to the hotel to get it.”. I even tried to attain it later on but they said it’s in possession of the hotel manager. This is OUR fee the WE paid for. You could’ve given our EDTF’s while cleaning the room, or while we were walking out the door the next day…or when dive shops call for just the number. Not to mention when the paying guest simply asks for it!
I then reported them to the tourism office of the scam they were pulling and thankfully the professional tourism office refunded me directly and started investigating their actions.
There’s good employees here with clean facilities along with hospitable service, but the stunt some individuals were pulling here and rudely talking to their guest is simply NOT a professional person working in the tourism industry and they should instead remain far away to harm guests.

Read moreI would like to make it clear that i did not stay at this hotel, but had some friends have a terrible experience whilst staying there. As a fellow traveller myself, I find it's important to be warned especially when it comes to the safety of your chosen accommodation. My friends had literally just checked in and met up with myself for dinner. Upon their return, they were advised by the guard that they had apparently left their key at the reception desk. He also told them that he noticed that the window was broken so they took the liberty of fixing it. When my friends entered the room, they were surprised to find that someone had gone through their belongings and stolen all their money as well as their go pro camera. The guard suggested that someone may have entered via the broken window, but as I recall, it was raining heavily that night, yet none of the floors were wet nor dirty. We gathered the police and confronted the owner who was rude and aggressive and even told me off for trying to help my friends who spoke little English. He denied any involvement by himself or his staff and put off discussing it until the following day, and even refused to give them their money back for the 3 nights ahead that they had paid for. The next day, the owner eventually gave in and paid them back not all, but a portion of the money they had lost, didn't compensate for the go pro, and gave back two of the three nights worth that they had paid for, even though they refused to stay there after the incident. The owner insisted this was none of my business and that this didn't concern me, and perhaps it didn't. But I was merely there to assist my friends whom I felt sorry for since they literally had just checked in! Anyhow, I hope this helps. No one deserves for this to happen to them especially when they are there to enjoy their holiday. Lastly, this incident not only reflects badly upon this establishment but on all Filipinos, which is hardly fair since some of the nicest people I've met have come from here. It's not fair that one rotten egg should...
Read moreThis hotel was in a good location just 2 mins walk from the beach and Main Street of bars and restaurants! When we arrived they made us wait till exactly dead on 2pm to check in to our room which was quite ridiculous considering the room was properly ready way before that! We spent 3 nights in the new block of rooms which were lovely and modern, clean and comfortable! Bed was amazingly comfortable! When we first booked our 3 nights here we quickly added on a 4th night which was about a month before our stay! When it came to the 4th day we were moved from our room into the old block of rooms! We were treat like a completely new customer all over again made to leave our room at 12 and wait till 2 to recheck into the new room which I thought was disgusting the hotel new we had booked the 4th night as an add on so a moving us rooms fair enough but to make us wait all over again was terrible customer service! The old section of the hotel was dark, dingy, havings the lights on made little to no difference! There wifi is terrible doesn’t work in any of the rooms literally only in the hotel lobby! And they restrict what you can view you can’t check your emails or even use google which is quite ridiculous! If they sorted out these problems they could have a...
