We have spent 7 nights in the suite bedroom, just above the reception. The bedroom - it was HUGE. With everything you may need. Cleaned every day. The shower and toilet were a real treat with a size of two hotel bedrooms... Above all, I think that in such places it is mostly about the service, and this place shows an amazing experience in this aspect. I will mention only two in names but all the rest were so nice, smiling, attentive and very very helpful with everything we were asking, even it was not an easy one. Diana was the first to chat with us, giving us all the tips for the area and the island, very professional with a perfect English and endless kindness. Kay from the restaurant was calling me in my name just an hour after we have arrived, always smiling and giving tention and care. The rest of the team as I said, were all so nice so it is a pitty I couldn't catch all their names.
Other things: Swimming pool - nice. Refreshing. Facing to sea so a great place to chil. The pool is surrounded by a lot of tropical trees so the staff is cleaning the place many times but still by the end of the day it might look dirty.nit a big deal. Kayak and SUP are there for rent. Beware of the mosquitoes. It is unavoidable to have them in a tropical heaven so just protect yourself... Thats the best you can do. Restaurant - great breakfast infront of the beautiful sea. As we avoid meat and chicken we couldn't try all they have to offer, but it seems like a great spot to eat, with the view of the sunset.
Location - for us it was great. With just 100 Pesos per ride you can go to most of the places is the area and still you are on a beautiful beach, with walking distance for many good restaurants and bars.
Definitely a great place and looking forward to...
Read moreReally pretty, but lots of room for improvement. Staff was very friendly. Room was really noisy when we arrived due to construction next door, but this wasn’t really their fault. They talked to the neighboring hotel and got them to agree not to start making noise until 9am.
Bed was ok, pillows were not.
Shower had no pressure, so it was hard to get soap off. The tiles were really scummy, as were the windows. The door and bathroom window didn’t seal well and we woke up to swarms if mosquitos in our room (Palawan is one of the areas prone to Zika/malaria/dengue). Also had some large roaches I had to take care of that grossed me out.
They call themselves “eco”, but the low flush toilet didn’t work, only the big button, but they did unplug all my stuff daily which was quite annoying. They also gave us plastic bottles of water despite single use plastic being banned. Again, door didn’t seal all the way, this would also make the aircon more efficient as a lot of it leaks out the front and bathroom windows.
The restaurant food was bland and relatively expensive. The waitresses were very nice, though. It was hard to enjoy food with the cigarette smoke wafting through. The smoking area was seemingly anywhere anyone wanted, even though the Philippines has a public smoking ban, would be nice if they actually enforced it.
Lastly, the sweetest dog lives on their beachfront and they should really get it vaccinated and stop treating it so poorly. He was so nice that we went out and found food for him, but they constantly shoe him away. Just make him your hotel dog, he just wants a little love, and he has so much to give. I know dogs that have gone through obedience training that aren’t half as well behaved, you would be lucky...
Read moreGood: The location of the hotel is great for excursions. Breakfast is good, but a la carte - you pay extra for the second coffee. Bad: We stayed in the suite at the Last Frontier for 8 nights and cannot recommend the hotel. We spent extra money because we wanted a quiet room, but that wasnt possible in that room. The suite was very noisy: Street noise, music from other hotels, dogs barking and an old air conditioner. Sleeping without earplugs was not possible. In general, the room is old, used (see photos) and not very clean. Which is absolutely unacceptable at a price of 210€ (12400 PHP - most expensive room in the hotel) per night! For this reason, we went to the staff after the first night and asked for another room, which was only possible for one night, as the resort was fully booked. As the noise was unbearable for us, we went to the staff again to ask for a refund to move to another hotel. The manager was not even available to speak to us in person, but told us that there had been no other complaints about this and therefore they could not do anything for us. As compensation we were offered 17€ (1000PHP) in the form of a voucher for the hotel's restaurant. This is not even 1% of the total price and we could not even afford dinner for 2 people. As I said, we had the option of spending a night in another room (Deluxe Garden view Cottage) further forward by the sea. It was much quieter here, but this room is also getting on in years and too expensive in our opinion. We can't recommend renting kayaks from the hotel, as they are more expensive than those from the neighbouring restaurant. We were very disappointed with our expensive stay and advise everyone against the Honeymoon Suite. We will definitely...
