We were there for our mother's special day. It was a buffet night. I get it with promos. We were 15. A big group and all of us go to buffet restaurants so we have set food standards.
The tables were sticky! One of my sister already mentioned to the crew, noone apologised nor cleaned it.
The lighting was so bad. You may stumble by mistake as the dining set on increments of flooring.
The aircon was not fully working and the grills were not blown away from the guests.
The clean plates were not refilled on some food stations as well as most of the hot food, we needed to come back for the food items.
The coffee and tea were included with the individual price. I thought I should mention the only good thing about the buffet.
About an hour and quarter before 2200, the tables were emptied but the dishes were not removed.
I waited twice on the queue to make myself a glass of Halo-Halo but either there is nobody to make the shaved ice, there was no clean glass available. I stood the second time for 7 minutes for a glass. It was just to see they will no longer refill the ingredients for the Halo-Halo! That was the only good thing I was about to say to refresh me from the lack of coolness of the area! So the only glass after 7 minutes was still wet inside that I had to shook off on the tray.
We all agreed that the lobster was awfully prepared. It smelled like a dry road wet after the rain. I couldn't make myself take a bite as it was quite dry and rubbery when I sliced it. My husband ( from a well known Buffet chain ) asked for Buttered Lobster, it did not make a difference. I was not impressed with their hot food over all.
The male crew were not very attentive. The chef? in the Duck Area, couldn't show a smile when guests gave the dish a good comment.
Is this kind of guest relations norm in hotel food service?!
The only good thing to make mention was there is a scanning procedure from the lower ground carpark which is free for the first 3 hours.
If the management couldn't see these, that buffet should not be in Diamond Hotel. I wish we could get our money back. It was such a waste of what should have been a great day...
Read moreJust got back from a 3-day, 3-night stay for a conference and, truthfully, I have mixed emotions about it. The room was okay, nothing noteworthy that made it stand out. Venturing outside the halls, I discovered a spot where you can see a full view of Manila Bay, and it was breathtaking. So, it's definitely advisable to get a room with that view.
The buffet breakfast was delicious but didn't offer much variety. You could take two trips around the banquet and you've already sampled everything. The bakery has a good selection of pastries. The ensaymada with the ube filling is definitely as must-try. The food they offered in the convention was more limited than the breakfast buffet, and they constantly needed to re-supply.
There were security guards roaming every corner, so that's definitely a welcome sight, in terms of feeling secured. Although, I did go back to my room one time when the housekeeping was cleaning and the door was wide open. I walked into the room and the staff just briefly stared and went about their business, not knowing if I was the occupant or not. Makes me wonder if anyone could just walk into any room when they're cleaning and steal valuables.
Hailing a taxi or parking is a terrible experience. Taxis come few and far in between and the queue was severely unstructured. Parking took more than an hour to do, as there's not enough parking space for all the rooms. Even the valet parking took about an hour in the queue before being...
