For this mid-high end hotel, you could opt to stay at one with much friendlier staff.||||I too had the experience of the guy before me, when my family came back to the hotel and were told not to swim because we were checking out on that day.||||They had tonnes of 'official' and 'unofficial' rules as well. Staff would directly approach you and tell you that 'the owner doesn't allow you to do this', which I found quite limiting to my enjoyment of the place.||||The facilities were basic enough, when we arrived the pool unfortunately was cloudy (thankfully cleared up by the staff after 2 days), and the fountain wasn't on most of the time because 'the owner did not want to on it'- even upon request.||||Becareful of riding your own motorbike to the hotel, the receptionists gave us scowls when we returned with motorbikes of our own when we chose not to rent the bikes from the hotel as we found a cheaper contact at Panglao beach.||||The staff were also a tad intrusive, and would knock on our hotel doors with constant reminders of their rules- one instance was when they said not to use mosquito coils (we never did or even had any). Instead the hotel would spray each room with aerosol insecticide every morning- a plus point for keep mozzies at bay, but I thought this was abit contradictory to their 'eco-friendly' image they were trying to portray by changing the towels every 2 days. But anyway a plus point keeping the place bug-free in my books for them.||||Every dark cloud has a silver lining. The hotel was in good shape, they provided free hot/cold drinking water refills at a dispenser. I wouldn't hold the hotel itself against my experiences, maybe the staff were not very versed in hospitality or how to communicate in english and as such the message came out crudely. But the room was nice and clean, hot water was always ready for bath and besides my rough patch with this hotel, I think it's worth a visit once they train their staff better.||||Tip:||For affordable motorbiking rentals from Panglao, check out this guy, his contact no is here:||(09104184103)||Was very reasonable and we only ended up paying 300 pesos per bike per day for 3 days. He doesn't speak alot of English but he hangs out on the left side of the road on the way to Panglao beach...
Read moreDuring our stay at Panglao Homes Resorts & Villas, ||||On the first night, i approached the staff to find more information about breakfast locations around the area and scooter rental rates and were very pushy. Thus i went to the town to rent at a cheaper deal, thus they we unhappy and the vibe given by them was really unwanted . Even the security guard who is always at the gate was unhappy as if i had committed a crime. ||||On the second day a driver came to pick us for island hopping and i could see the security guard gossiping about me and my family with regards to the incident in their own language. I am a guest of your hotel and i have the rights to make my own decisions and pick the best deals. ||||Moreover, there were so many restrictions in the hotel as if i was staying in an 'army camp' for example coming back from a tour on the last day of check out and directly insulting us by saying that ' we are not able to use the swimming pool' by the front office staff. we are not savages. It was really direct and insulting. ||||Overall my experience with this hotel was really horrible as there were many restrictions that we as guest cannot do and staff was super unfriendly. Hope you guys will be able to make a better choice...
Read moreStayed for 3 nights in a queen bedroom with my husband. The room was basic but clean and modern. We enjoyed being steps from the pool and having our small patio area. The biggest cons were the hard bed, (we could feel the springs on the mattress), thin, worn out sheets, slower WiFi in the room, and weaker a/c unit. I am a light sleeper and did not have any issues with noise. ||I didn’t have any issues with the staff as mentioned in the other reviews. The receptionist, Aris, was very helpful with planning some excursions and also giving me ice after bumping my head getting in a tricycle. ||We were debating on staying at a more expensive resort that was closer to the beach and had more amenities but opted to stay here as we were planning to do many excursions during the day. It was a good choice for us as we were able to use the pool after a long day of activities and be farther from the busier atmosphere of along beach. Overall we had a pleasant stay and I would consider staying again if the mattress was a bit more...
