I visited this massage shop after making a reservation but decided not to proceed with the massage due to hygiene concerns.
As soon as I entered the massage room, I noticed a thick layer of dust on the wooden floor. Although the room was dimly lit, the indirect lighting on the floor highlighted the dust, almost as if the lighting was designed to emphasize it.
The foot-washing process was also baffling. It seemed neither intended for cleanliness nor for promoting blood circulation. The person washing my feet used a damp cloth they had been carrying around since the lobby. I can’t say how many people’s feet had been wiped with that cloth, but it was already damp and unhygienic when it touched my feet. The slippers provided afterward were also filthy.
While waiting, I noticed that all the massage therapists looked extremely tired. I heard there had been a year-end party either that day or the previous evening, which might explain why the service and hygiene were lacking.
After the foot washing, I was taken to the massage table, but I immediately requested a refund upon sitting down. The towels on the table were already so soaked in oil that my hands felt slippery just from touching them, and there were hair and debris all over the massage table. I couldn’t overlook these basic hygiene issues and felt it was impossible to proceed with the massage.
For anyone planning to visit, I highly recommend using your phone flashlight to check the cleanliness of the facilities. The foot-washing basin was so dirty that it was nauseating and hard to look at. Since many others have already reviewed the quality of the massage, I believe focusing solely on the hygiene and cleanliness is sufficient for my review.
Additionally, if you are sensitive to peppermint, this place may not be suitable for you. The peppermint scent was overwhelmingly strong, irritating my eyes and nose as soon...
Read moreAfter a very disappointing massage on our first day at "NuatThai" which is just other side of street, the "Thai Paradise Spa" is located in the first floor right behind FilOil-station. It's a nice environment and luckily we have chosen the right masseurs - we decided for 90 minutes Swedish Massage with Shiatsu elements, me a strong one and partner a medium strong. Like in heaven I felt - and as I'm a former competitive swimmer who got more than thousand massages in live already, I know about what I'm talking. Massage of partner was such relaxing that he felt asleep while relaxing. So we came back every day after our daily tours or water sports activities and enjoyed this fabulous massages again and again. One day I arrived there with a little sunburn on shoulders - so this part got a nice fresh cooling Aloe Vera treatment on. I suggest everybody to visit the "Thai Paradise Spa". Some Spa's in Alona Beach/ Panglao only have female masseuse's. Here you can find strong male and female massagists. Spa provides a lot of different massage oils and treatments to spoil your body in perfection. After massage you can seat down at the lounge or in your massage cabin again and have a water or tea. So if you're looking for massage place which fulfills your expectations, you must go there. Closing this review with a special thanks to our masseurs - we hope to can enjoy your massages again one time. Tom (Germany) and...
Read moreI arrived and said I’d like a traditional Thai massage, you know, the ones that are exactly the same no matter where you have them.
So I pay and I’m let to the mat, they didn’t wash my feet first which was already a red flag. I lay on my back but get told to flip over… also weird because I’ve never had a Thai massage that starts on my stomach; they always 100% of the time start with your feet and legs. Ok, fine. So the woman starts giving me the weirdest massage I’ve had, even walking on my back trying to crack my spine -also not part of a Thai massage.
So I ask her when the “Thai massage” is going to start, to which she replied that what she was giving was a Thai massage. I ended the massage right then and there and got my money back.
The manager/owner made it clear that not even she knew what a Thai massage was, just telling me that it was ‘pressure point’.
What’s also very clear is that the staff here likely haven’t had any massage training, and it’s a safe bet they cause injuries to their clients because of improper techniques.
If I can take a $30 Thai massage course then so can your staff. What you’re selling is not a Thai massage, and it’s quite dangerous manipulating people’s spine without the proper training. Please train your staff, or stop selling Thai massage and just call them “pressure point” or...
