First time at Kahoy Cafe, and I loved it! The experience was fantastic, starting with the super friendly and patient Ms. Ailen, who took the time to wait for our order and gave excellent food recommendations. The outdoor setting was another highlight—perfect at night, especially with a light drizzle. The furniture and ambiance were spot-on, and they’re pet-friendly too, which was a big plus 'coz I brought my cat!
Now, let’s talk about the food. We ordered the BBQ spareribs and potato shrimp, and both were amazing! I’d rate them 9.8 and 9.5 out of 10, respectively. The ribs were the star of the show—tender, flavorful, and paired with an incredible BBQ sauce. The only tweak I’d suggest is roasting the corn and adding a touch of salt, though I get the idea with the dips on the side. That’s just my personal taste, though.
I also asked if they had appetizers, and while they don’t usually serve any, Ms. Ailen went out of her way to offer alternatives. I mentioned I liked cheese, but since they didn’t have it, they surprised us with complimentary popcorn instead. Talk about excellent service!
Overall, it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Of course, experiences vary, but I think we hit the sweet spot with fewer customers around. It’s proof that you don’t need a packed place to guarantee great food and service—some gems are simply underrated.
Thank you, Kahoy Cafe, for the wonderful time! I’ll...

Early bird croissant burger menu - the pork burger is good, but I would remove the sugar syrup from the top of the croissant, it is sticky as hell. The french fries are too oily and soft, should have been more crispy and less oily. The big disappointment was the included drink, you pay 100php more for the early bird menu and get an extra coffee or orange juice. The chosen coffee was americano and it had a lot of water in it, diluting the coffee taste. I would put a smaller cup and therefore less water for a better taste. The orange juice was just water with orange juice powder, that certainly does not worth the 100php paid extra! It should have been fresh orange juice, that's what I was expecting at least...
Eggs in hell - very spicy, be careful, but the taste is good. It is called eggs in hell but you get only one egg, maybe you should put 2 eggs?!? It is similar to a shakshuka but without bell peppers.
Mango float - if I was to come back here, it would be for the mango float! Very very good! It was one of the best I had in my 2 months in the Philippines. It lacked the condensed milk from the original recipe but the final...
Read moreWe had the misfortune of dining on a night where there was a reservation of 15+ people ahead of us.
I gave a 4 star rating because the reason we went to Kahoy was to try their #nurungjichicken which must be popular as it was out of stock.
We had the croissant burger and the pork ribs. Both were good. Anything on a croissant is good, but the meat and toppings (lettuce, tomato, cheese and sauce) made it great. The ribs were moist, tender and fall off the bone. The BBQ sauce was an excellent Asian variation that didn’t overpower the ribs.
The most pleasant surprise was the service. The waitress checked in several times after we ordered to give us an update on our delayed order due demands the large party was putting on the kitchen. I almost fell out of my chair when towards the end of our meal, the waitress again apologized for the delay and presented a complementary dessert. Completely unheard of in the Philippines. Shocking!
We’ll be back and hopefully the chicken...
