This is probably the best Sogo branch I've stayed in. Their rooms are spacious and have different themes (not one room repeats a theme). So here comes a detailed review of ny experience.
Price: comparing the price for a 3-hour (Php 800) and a 12-hour stay (just about a little 2x the price of the 3-hour stay), I would that it is way better to stay longer here. Price-wise, you get more out of your money given that the place is really nice and almost incomparable to other Sogo branches
Room: The room is really spacious! For a room that is only for 2 people, it can easily be for 4. A family of 4 (2 adult + 2 kids) would also fit on the bed nicely. They have a cove light under the bed that is nice for people who like to sleep with the light on. A small circular table for you to eat on is also there and can sit 2 people. TVs in Sogo branches are always the same wherever you go, I really don't care about it since I don't use it.
Bathroom: This gets its own review since this is probably thr best part of the place. They have a nice big square bathtub that can easily fit 2 people, sitting stretched out. Though it's not a jacuzzi, it's good enough when filled with hot water to relax you. I just hoped they had provided some bubble bath solution to this to make it better. Attached on the bathtub is a faucet (to fill) and an attached shower head. On the side of the tub is a separate shower area with a swivelling rain type shower head. The water pressure is great as well so no worries on that. The toilet, bidet, sink, and mirror are the usual ones you see in other branches.
Food: Of course the food is good. And when I mean good, we ordered the Canton Guisado three times during our stay. That Php185 is really worth it and the food is good for 2-3 pax. Though we noticed a difference in quality between morning and evening. The food was better in the evening. We also ordered Tapsilog and Tocilog. Their tapa was juicy and a bit spicy (to my liking of course) and the eggs a little runny. The tocino is lacking some flavor but it's somewhat ok. We ordered a side of Yang Chow rice as well and it's good too. Lots of chopped meat and assorted veggies added to it.
Final: Overall, I loved my stay here. I would definitely go back if given the...
Read moreSOGO EDSA HARRISON.||||As we travel extensively, hotels and value for money is what we look for all the time. And I'm sure you are the same. And the advertising for this chain is massive. And it was THIS that made our decision to try. As for this hotel, HOTEL SOGO Harrison, is DEFINITELY NOT worthy. However if you don't care about hot water, very average food, and staff who just don't care, then go for it.||Let me explain, just a tad.||Seriously this is only a stop gap if nothing else is available, and no pre booking has been made. There are better hotels within this vicinity. ||We checked in off the street, with no problems, and was given 457. Ten minutes in, and no hot water, I ring and complain, a visit was made by staff, and was told that tepid water was hot water. We waited 1 hour for that consult. I disagreed passionately, and were shown that 456 is available. It smelt like an ashtray, and was treated as an idiot who knew nothing. Bad move. After explaining to staff and a senior member that the smell was repugnant, the senior staffer relented. Again we wait. 20 minutes later, room 331 we were moved to, and said that this room has hot water. Before staff left, we tried the water and it was the same as 457. At this point I gave up, my blood pressure was way above normal. ||||FOOD.||Room service is available. Menus are not I repeat not honest in their interpretation. So beware what you order. ||||SERVICE.||When you complain to staff here, they may look at you and agree, but it is opposite. The attitude of "you're only here for a short time, so what" is used.||||To Sum Up.||So in essence my friends, this is not...
Read moreWe stayed here as it was the only quarantine hotel that we could afford after the US CBP wouldn't let US citizens into the US with their mother. We understood that we weren't staying at the Ritz - we were shocked at how much more abysmal the room quality was than even our low expectations.||||During quarantine, you can not leave the room for any reason. This is obviously not Sogo's fault. Our first five days we were in a room with no window. This is also not Sogo's fault. But it was very difficult to be cooped up for five days unable to see the sky, with two makulit toddlers.||||Credit due to Sogo, they were able to move us to another room with a view half-way through our stay. Unfortunately, the room was smaller, and not clean, with broken anemities. We trust that they are doing their part to be Covid-clean, viral-free. But in basic cleanliness that you expect from a hotel - no. There was mildew on the shower curtain. We had to plug a towel in next to the AC because there was a giant crack there that ipis could crawl into and all the cold air could crawl out of. The sink faucet was falling off, and we gave up asking for it to be fixed. ||||There was cheap food available at the hotel, but it was so bland that it made you suspect you already had Covid. We of course rarely dealt with hotel staff directly, but when we did they were always helpful in getting us the delivered food or supplies from 7-11. As one would expect in a hotel for prostitutes, checkout and in is available 24...
