Kuya J's Baclaran branch few blocks away from Heritage Hotel. Not my first time na kumain sa Kuya J's and the food are really great. However, last 03/09/24 around 6pm the "Restaurant Manager" of this branch gave me enough reason to leave this review for the sake of restaurant's reputation. My whole family decided to satisfy our cravings with some filipino dishes with Kuya J's, I gave the list of my order to this manager. I ordered 4Pcs of SOLO UBE HALO HALO (solo order for 89php showing sa menu), 2 MANGO SHAKE and additional 1 platter of rice (sharing) the MANAGER confirmed the order and it's all good. I specifically requested to serve halo halo after we eat and serve the mango shake immediately with the food we ordered. Food came, and only received 1 mango shake. I asked the waitress how many mango shakes were punched under my name, she said 1 lang raw and then I told her I ordered 2 mango shake. While were eating waitress came again and she's holding 2 mango shakes, I told her again I received the first mango shake already and I just want to add 1 because it was supposedly a total of 2, and it's all good.After few minutes I asked her na pakiserve narin yung halo2, while waiting napansin ko na wala pa ang rice platter although were almost done eating, and so far busog naman na kami and I decided if they forgot to punch the rice platter okay lang din naman since mga busog na. Different waiter came to serve the halo2 and it was quite big from what I expected since I only ordered 4solo which showing sa menu. Waiter said na wala silang solo halo2, I was just a bit surprised kase it clearly shows sa menu not even crossed out/covered/removed yung price 89php for solo halo2, but again i said its okay since served and punched na rin toh for sure. I just thought sana binura man lang or niremove yung item sa menu or much better provide updated menu sa customers if hindi magagawa ng manager or staff na iremind ang mga customers that these certain items are unavailable to avoid confusion. Moving forward, while were enjoying our halo2, this MANAGER approached us again nasa likod sya ng chair ng Mom in law ko and sis inlaw while nakahawak both hands nya sa sandalan ng chair na inuupuan ng mom and sis in law ko and he's seemed/irritated/looks intimidating and told me in a negative and aggressive tone of voice with sassy facial expression "EXCUSE ME WE DON'T HAVE SOLO HALO2!" kaya sabi ko "sorry I'm just surprised kase it's included on the menu and sana nasabihan kami na it's not available kung wala naman pla kase tlaga" hindi pa man rin ako natatapos magsalita ki-nut-off na ko nung MANAGER saying "SORRY EVERSINCE WALA KAMI NYAN" to the point na naririnig na ng ibang tao yung boses nya na para bang kasalanan ko pa, of course with negative tone of voice. I told this MANAGER "sorry hindi ako nakikipagtalo ha? I'm willing pay for what I received although it's not what I originally ordered." umalis nalang bigla yung resto manager. I didn't see that coming, of course as a customer enjoying their food I'm a bit upset and expecting proper apology for the confusion but that's not what happened. After we ate, I asked for the bill and to my surprised I got charged for the rice platter which I never received, and total of 3 mango shake when I only ordered and consumed 2. Since medyo nag eelevate na yung emotions from what previously happened and the way the resto manager interact with me, I asked my partner na sya na ang mag dispute ng charge for the additional 1 mango shake and charge for rice platter. after madispute yung overcharged amount, the manager told my partner sarcastically "pakicheck nalang baka may mali parin". I extremely felt bad like we were mistreated I guess? That manager was so rude and unprofessional. Pinagmukha kaming tanga, and since ayaw ko gulo sa harap ng in laws ko, I'll just leave it here, pero I just want to leave this review na hopefully mabasa toh ng higher/upper management at Im really hoping that they will take it seriously and will take further action about this...

Service was rude. Many are off gossiping in their corner. (See photo) Two were even holding phones in their hand. When I brought this to their attention they did what they do best - pay no attention. I asked several times to serve us the guests, yet I always find myself waving up in the air like I'm about to drown in the ocean.
The food, there were just a few things missing. The taste definitely didn't satisfy the foodie in me. Perhaps the hunger in me as it did take quite sometime. Halo halo is good. One star. Sorry Echo.. this establishment/location needs a new management or a new set of reliable...

Ordered big pork belly, big beef tadyang, bangus sinigang, and pinakbet.
The beef tadyang was the worst quality, most gristly and fatty cuts. The pork belly was at least a day old, and had obviously been sitting all day, it actually left me with an upset stomach the next day even though I only ate a few bites. The sinigang was too vinegary to eat. The pinakbet was alright. But only one edible dish out of 4, in a 2k+ order? Pretty terrible.
They also left out silverware, when we specifically checked that box because we needed it.
