Perfect location because it’s near to the city center. From one side of Novotel rooms you have a beautiful view of the Vistula River and Wawel Cathedral and Castle!!
The staff is professional, very engaging and friendly. The meal (lunch/dinner) menu inside Novotel is extremely delicious and their chef is a genius!! Room service is also super and in time. They charge 10 extra złoty for delivering food.
The complementary breakfast offers a good variety of cereals and protein sources, teas, organic honey, soy milk, croissants and pain au chocolat, takeaway coffee as well, machine to make fresh fruit juice, scrambled eggs, kielbasa sausage, pancakes with different toppings, salad 🥗 like cucumber, olives, different cheeses, tomatoes, butter etc.
Not a lot of bread varieties or sandwich maker/ waffle machine. The coffee machine is not working some times.
There is an alter where you can make two eggs omlette by yourself and sometimes there is a man at the omlette station. Really good.
During winter times there is an indoor swimming pool as well. On the same floor (-1) there is a good spa and manicure service as well.
Along with all of that place for car parking (if you travelled by car). While checking out you have to tell them that you are traveling back by your own car, then they give you a small receipt that helps you in checking out of the garage.
The main entrance floor also has a small place for kids to play with toys and video games. There is fußball table but it’s broken (if the staff is reading this please do something about it because we love fußball and wanted to play with it). There is also chess and we enjoyed playing it!!
Now coming to the rooms, ours was executive. The room was clean and nicely maintained but the shower had leakage. I wish they had bathtub. So we reported this to the staff and they readily gave us another room which was extra spacious even though the shower there also had leakage problems and this bath didn’t have any place to keep the shower gel and shampoo. Don’t know why. The shower problems need to be fixed.
The 5 star is for the sheer experience....
Read moreIt's 4.5 out of 5 to be honest. There are many prose and cons for this hotel : Pros : Pool (or the main reason for arguing with our kids regarding what time we will get back to the hotel). The water temp. was too cold for me , but the kids didn't care . Breakfast food was pretty good and varied , though missing some classics like bacon. Lots of drink options and nice variety of sweets to choose from. Again our kids had different opinion but they are wrong :) Game room was really nice addition (though location of the pool table and the maintenance could be a little better) Water bar (with soda) on the floor is really awesome Staff is really nice The views from our apartment were amazing ! The cleaning stuff replaced our robs occasionally with new once which was very nice Gym - we hadn't tried it but it seemed as a nice option to have
Good but could be better : Jacuzzi (it's awesome that there is a Jacuzzi , it's a bummer it's so small and can fit only 4 people without getting way too intimate) and the water there could be warmer. Location . The location is good , but the road works outside make it much worse since all taxis need to take a pretty big detour to get there and the walking to old city is either on an obstacle course through the works or a long way thought the river (though with awesome views)
Cons : The room is a little bit too small and lucks enough shelves for clothes Air con is not working ! I made sure to ask before booking the room that the air con is working and received a definite yes , however it's only working on heat (at least on our visit time) making morning (and mid days) pretty hard. When the hotel is busy it's really noticeable and you can wait few minutes for an elevator or for breakfast During breakfast things could be better overall : tables were not cleaned fast enough thus making the search for a table to sit at relatively long task , finished food was not always replaced. We had egg shells in scrambled eggs.
Overall we had an enjoyable stay and will definitely...

Location (5★): The location is perfect – right in the middle or center of the city. However, the downside is the traffic, the number of people, and the potential loudness. Keep that in mind: if you prefer it a bit quieter, this location may not be suited for you.
Rooms (3★): Overall, the rooms are not bad, but also not really up to date. I'd call them standard rooms – in my opinion, comparable to those of a 3-star hotel. That applies even to the superior rooms we had. They were mostly clean, but we did experience some kind of bugs during the night – they seemed to love us ;-) Before you wonder: this is a very frequented hotel with many nationalities coming and going. These things can happen, especially nowadays. We reported it, and it's now up to the hotel to ensure the rooms remain safe and sound. We changed our room afterwards. My recommendation: add some color to the rooms, use different lighting to create atmosphere. Introduce themed rooms – like traveler rooms, business rooms, sport rooms, etc.
Price (4★): Not too expensive, not too cheap – in line with Krakow’s average.
Breakfast (5★): I honestly didn’t expect that much – but it was really good! Definitely enough of everything. ;-)
Reception (2★): There were many guests and various nationalities, but only 2–3 reception counters were open – depending on the staff. In other words: arriving guests had to wait. Is there not a better system to avoid that? Many people arrive stressed after a long bus or taxi ride. At least offer them some comfort or a welcome service to help them relax.
Language (3★): Maybe we misinterpreted the situation, but we had the feeling that, when speaking English, there was sometimes a lack of understanding. We had to try several times to make ourselves clear.
Result: For me, it was too crowded. The hotel is fine, but I will continue searching for...
