Best hotel, could not be improved. Reception staff were exceptionally nice and more than helpful. They arranged Taxi collection and return from airport for my husband and myself.
Its excellent location a short 10 minute walk, from the centre of Krakow, and its scenic position beside the river made the perfect mix for relaxation and attending concerts and site-seeing in the main part of the city. The views of the Castle and the river bank from the rooms was wonderful.
Breakfast was one of the best we have experienced, with such a variety of fruit, cheese, meats lots of breads and pastries, plus the hot dishes provided for all tastes and more. The very personal attention provided by the female reception staff in booking restaurants, taxis and concerts for us made our visit to Krakow most enjoyable. We had little information regarding Concerts in the City before travelling, for music lovers there are concerts on every night in the centre of Krakow. No prior booking is required as mainly they are held in one of the many beautiful Churches. They generally consist of 1 hour which allows you time to do other activities like dine in one of the many wonderful reasonably priced restaurants.
During our 5 day stay we nearly missed visiting Auschwitz. You need to book the previous day, the information on visits is not clear enough, we turned up at he time on the booklets and found they had already left and were full. It is a must on your itinerary what an experience. The efficiency design and management of the whole camp and the way that so much of the operation was conducted in a manner which prevented the poor inmates from anticipating their fate!!! Also the evidence showing the attempts to destroy much of the evidence as the Nazis departed, shows the mindset and precision with which it was all planned and carried out to the very end.
Another of the many highlights was Schindler's museum, a must and most interesting. I could go on about the many wonderful things to do but why not go and see for yourself. A wonderful way to enjoy a few days or more if you can spare the time. The cost of everything is so reasonable, go before it catches up with the rest of the World. Almost forgot The People are so friendly, on many occasions I approached people looking for directions they were so helpful and had all the time in the world. Being a University City made it seem wonderfully casual and vibrant. It was one of the best Cities we have enjoyed and we have been to most of the...
