I recently dined at Ariel, nestled in Krakow's Jewish quarter. The food at Ariel was undeniably good, but the main dish left me with mixed feelings. While it was well-prepared, it resembled something you might find in a good restaurant rather than being an exceptional standout. On a brighter note, the appetizers were a delightful surprise. The hummus and Jewish dumpling offered a taste of authentic flavors that we thoroughly enjoyed. Regarding the service, the staff was friendly, but it was apparent that their friendliness might have been influenced by the expectation of a tip. While this is common in the service industry, it's always nicer when kindness feels more genuine and less transactional.

Very low quality food, pretending to be a jewish restaurant. We ordered a 'stew of beef' with potatoes, beans and sliced carrots, this is a classic in their menu. There were only 4-5 small pieces of beef in the dish and the meat was hard, dry and not tasty at all. The beans were almost burnt out and hard. Potatoes and carrots tasted as frozen stuff, not fresh. This stew of beef was an offense to the best practice for this type of dish. Total rate 0/5 for the stew. As a starter we got a red carrots soup with ravioli. This was acceptable. They get 1 star because of the acceptable starter. However, I paid 32 PLN for the unpleasant stew.

We came here looking for authentic Jewish cuisine and didn’t find it. The service was kind and lively, but we had to wait a long time for our food. People that came in after us got their food first. The gefilte fish was tasty, but the chopped liver was missing seasoning and onions. The matzo ball soup was very odd and the matzo balls spongy. The chulent was very inauthentic and greasy. It looked more like a hash brown than a stew. The roasted duck was dry and tasteless. The accompanying cranberry sauce was ultra sweet and processed. This place seems to cater for tourists who don’t know anything about Jewish food.

It was so nice enjoying the food of my youth, that my grandmother & mother used to make, brought back all the warm fuzzy feelings. We had Gefilte Fish which was so lovely, just wished we were getting a whole ball of fish instead of a couple of slices, but tasted great along with the delicious jelly. Matza Ball Soup was a little disappointing, the chicken broth tastes artificial as though it's made from shop bought stock cubes, not lovingly made from chicken, onions, carrots & spices. The matza balls were tasteless & bland, I think they use fine matza meal instead of course & it needs more eggs in the mixture & definitely needs pepper in the mix too. Kreplach (fried beef dumplings) were delicious & the highlight of the meal, though Chicken Livers with Eggs were fabulous & so flavourful too. I tried the Purim Tea & it was very enjoyable. Service is outstanding & the venue has a wonderful old...

The food here was okay. We ordered from a set menu as a result of being a big group. The Apple cake dessert was very nice.

We had a Jewish dining experience booked here and had a group of children with us who weren't Jewish and weren't Polish. It appeared, likely through our own ignorance, that talking through the music between main and desert course was a little rude. It would have only taken a member of staff to mention this to us and we would have done something about it. Instead we were faced with rude gestures from other patrons which didn't really indicate what we were doing wrong and upon leaving we received a round of applause. Our Jewish dining experience, to us, left us unwelcomed and an inconvenience. A simple explanation would have changed everything.

What I took from this is do your research before dining in a restaurant in the...

Highly Recommend! If your visting Krakow and would like to have some jewish food, this is definetly the place to go. You must reserve here prior we were able to get a table for 2 by reserving about 8 hours prior for a bigger group call before.

The food was very tasty and fresh, we had the dumpling which was different from the general dumpling you might use to, it was fried and has a soft filling inside. The matzah ball soup was so flavourful. We further ordered the carp with mushrooms and the beef stake that is sevred with a sauce, along with latkes. Everything was very well prepared. For desert you could try the kanafeh.

Besides the food, our sever for the night was a very nice woman which made the evening even...
