Madalena Hostel e Suites — Hotel in Faro

I stayed at this hostel for about a week as part of a birthday trip, and it was truly a wonderful experience!

Before coming, I was looking for a place that was both clean and easily accessible and this hostel was exactly that. Every member of the front desk staff and housekeeping team was incredibly kind and thoughtful throughout my stay.

The location is great, close to the train and bus stations, as well as many restaurants and bars. Of course, no place is perfect, but thanks to the earplugs provided, I was still able to sleep comfortably despite the lively surroundings.

The bathrooms were cleaned daily, and towels were kindly provided. I also really appreciated the option to rent a beach umbrella at a reasonable daily rate, it made my beach days so much better. Laundry facilities were available as well, and relaxing on the rooftop in the evening was simply perfect.

There was also a kitchen and cozy common areas where guests could feel at home and connect with others.

I would absolutely love to stay here again next time I’m in Faro, and I highly recommend this place to other travelers.

I chose the hostel because of the positive reviews and they were in fact true. I was received by gentle and attentive receptionists, had a quick tour around the house and had the chance to already leave my bags in the locker. I also chose this hostel because I forgot my padlock, but they had special keys so I left my belongs worry free. The place is well decorated and impeccably clean. I could sleep really well and the bunkers are really spacious. The only unfortunate thing was the shower for getting clogged quite fast, in a matter of minutes the bathroom was flood. Wonderful experience, I wish I could stay longer but I would definitely stay with this hostel again next time—the only issues I had was that the noise next door (there’s a bar) was really loud, the people in my room were absolutely disrespectful with the noise (they were banging the doors on purpose and making a lot of noise so early in the morning), and it seemed like only the women working were nice/approachable.
