An example that google should have the option of -5 stars! We had booked this hotel for nine(!)days overnight. Their check in, is in a matter of time the latest check-in I have ever done in a hotel, which is 16.00. Our flight arrived at 8 o'clock in the morning and we were waiting for the time to pass, after making them a question if there is a possibility of earlier check-in or at least storage of luggage until that time. There was no possibility for either. So we stayed patiently until 16.00 o'clock in the streets waiting for the moment of Chek in. At 16.00 o'clock that we arrived at the hotel there were not even the keys In the place they should be and not even the room ready. In every attempt to be informed about when we will receive our room, their answer was “we do not know and this is the responsibility of the cleaning staff”, which arrived at the hotel after we did, approximately 4.10 and started cleaning other rooms. I had to call them five times because no one was calling back to inform me after 1 hour and a half had passed. When the cleaning stuff came and gave us the key, we went upstairs and the results are at the photos I attach. Floor never wiped, with bread crumbs and pigeon feathers, Coffee and liquid prints all over the kitchen, Bathroom full of hair and yellows stamps around the toilet, smelling extremely bad(!!!) (whose door is right on the head of the bed). The answer of the person in charge of our room, Joana, for this whole situation was that there is nothing she can do about it. She had that laugh throughout the whole time, like she couldn’t understand how serious the situation was. The night was not good, because as I mentioned before the toilet was next to the bed and all night was that smell at the atmosphere like public toilets, even with the door closed.. Although Joana, who was responsible for our room, assured me that the next day when we leave the room the cleaning crew would come to clean it all, we were away from 10 o'clock in the morning until 8 in the afternoon and when we returned, we were surprised to see that no one had entered the room to clean!!! Not even the basics, not even the toilet! So I have to buy my own cleaners to clean so that I could use the bathroom properly…The hotel's response to Booking we conducted to find a solution, was that we were rude to the staff, which never happened, and even when I was trying to communicate on the phone and they were laughing, I said thank you very much for the understanding and for your customer service and I just hang up the phone. In the other side, it was rude on their part that when after three days the cleaning staff came to "pass" the place, they took pictures that they passed by, lest we contradict them! They also said that we were constantly informed about when we would receive the room, which is also a lie, because the person in charge of the room was keep telling me that she didn’t know by what time we were going to get the room because “the cleaning crew does not answer the phones I call them”. She didn’t even call back to tell me that room is ready. We got the keys by the cleaning stuff as I’ve already mentioned. Tragic was also the fact that along with the sheets they took a Garmin watch worth 300€, which I searched for on my way back to my room but fortunately for my good luck they had left the laundry bag down in the reception area, so with the search button, after I went downstairs I found it vibrating wrapped in the laundry sheets! Thank goodness I discovered it before it ended up in any washing machine! I really wonder, if any of the hotel managers could live in a room dirty and under these conditions. We are talking about hygienic conditions that are the most important in a space. Really for your own good, never rent in this hotel, they will ruin your mood and all your vacation. No respect for the customer, not even willingness to resolve the issue and for a hotel that demands PREpayment for the ENTIRE amount of stay. Really unacceptable!!!! If I had known all this, I wouldn't have walked by even...
Read moreFAA Rentals 31 de Janeiro by An Island Apart A small (30m square) clean fully equipped bedsit. Two of us stayed in this bedsit for 2 weeks. A great location situated between the old town (zona velha) and the central area of the Catedral and the promenade – about a 10 minute walk in either direction. The only issue with the flat was the shower room. It had a large walk-in shower which was nice but the shower head needed replacing, the door didn’t fully shut and it drained very slowly. This meant after 1 minute of showering you were standing in your own dirty water and by 2 minutes the shower tray had overflowed into the main area. Plastic toilet seat was loose. The extractor fan seemed to have no noticeable effect. Also, the design of the flat cupboards and wardrobes was no handles on the outsides – which is fine, but they had applied this to the shower room door too i.e. it had no handle on the outside of the door so you could not pull it closed. Not a great problem, but the bottom hinged had pulled loose and the door jammed open with about 2cm to the fully closed position. Again, not a great problem except at night, and first thing in the morning, when there was a strong ‘drain smell’ in the shower room and because you couldn’t fully shut the door the bed, which was very near the shower room door, suffered the same aroma. Not nice. But a maintenance man could fix all these issues in one day. The bed was ok, but all the pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. After one week the flat was cleaned by staff and the bed linen and towels all replaced, which was very nice. Good washing machine and tumble drier downstairs in the entrance area. Overall, we liked the flat, loved the location and...
Read moreWould get 5 stars with a little improvement. The apartment is modern, light and airy. It has a large balcony with comfortable outside furniture; there is an outside dining table with 4 good chairs. All the appliances are Bosch, all in beautiful condition. Everything was spick and span when we arrived. There were problems. Some things needed maintenance, we reported them and they were seen to. A major problem is the lack of cooking equipment - there are no saucepans or roasting dishes, no salad bowl. We reported this, but did not receive a reply. There were only two coffee mugs. The other letdown is lack of drawer space, we are spending 3 weeks here and you really don't want to live out of a suitcase...
