Guest House Lovely Swan — Hotel in Lagos

Just returned back from our stay at Lovely Swan accommodation. The top floor room was very clean and tidy when we arrived.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of Old town Lagos. It only takes a few minutes to walk into the main square, and yet on an evening the little street is very quite and you can barely hear any noise at all. The balcony is a good size with a table and two chairs.

As Pedro mentioned when we met him, it could ideally do with 2 loungers adding, to then lay and relax enjoying the Portugese sun!

Been holiday cottage owners ourselves, we would probably say that there are two areas that could be simply improved-

• Better quality pillows!

• A fridge permanently in the room.

The fridge was missing when we first arrived and it is really important as to store cold water/milk and foods.

Credit to Pedro, within a few hours of contacting him, we had a small suitable sized fridge in our room.

I had read previous comments about the beds at Lovely Swan.

We found them really good, the mattresses are firm which we like, however every guest will have different opinions on mattresses as this is quite a personal thing.

Would I stay again??

Yes most definitely, especially it better quality pillows and a fridge are supplied...

Value for money = 10 out of 10.

An affordable room located near the tourist area. When booking I had no way to select which room I wanted - I read a bad review regarding the first floor - but luckily was given the second floor room. The room was very spacious and clean. It had a Kitchenette, table, two sofas and the queen bed.

One of the room amenities is wifi, but it wasn't showing up. I had to look around to find it and plug it in to get it going.

One of the things I didn't like about the service, was that the code given by the booking agency wasn't working. It turned out that the manager of the property changed it/disabled it without letting us know. So we had to call him to get a new one. It's a good thing it wasn't too late in the day otherwise who know if he would have picked up the phone. I think he does it to know when people actually get in, but it would really suck if there was bad weather and you're outside trying to get in and waiting on another person to pick up the phone to give you a new code.

The property is very well maintained by the most helpful owner! Prior to reservation, I sent a message via Whatsapp asking a few questions and received a detailed, professional response within minutes. It is obvious that this owner wants to work for his clients and wants to provide exceptional service. My husband and I have traveled all over the world for extended time and agree that his communication.and organization was the best we've experienced. The rest of his team are also top notch and helpful. Portuguese hospitality at its utmost finest!! Early check-in, luggage storage and a fully equipped apartment made our stay perfect! Thank you again for the wonderful stay and helping us with luggage storage during our hike.
