Did not have a good experience here. I wasnt that hungry but lady serving us wouldnt let me order a child's portion because it was too bland for adults. She suggested I ordered a tapas instead so I got the prawns. When they came I ate a bit of it and it was a very odd tasting dish, and on closer inspection the prawns were raw in the middle. I showed my husband and whilst he was looking at it the waiter noticed and came over and asked why we were inspecting the dish. I wasnt going to bring it up and just leave it but as he asked so we told him they were undercooked. He then looked himself and said this was how they were meant to be served? I googled and there are big risks of eating undercooked prawns but he was adamant this was how they were meant to be. He kept pushing me to accept they make me a new one and I must have said no about 10 times before he got the message which was really awkward and unpleasant. My husband had the fish and chips and he enjoyed though so stars for his experience. They also did not charge...
Read moreSad to leave a 3-star review after reading all the other excellent reviews, but our experience was not that great for two reasons. We ordered 2 boxes of fish & chips. On the plus side, *most of the fish was very tender, flaky, and had nice flavor of fresh fish (unlike the fishy cod flavor you often find in Portugal). The batter is also very light, making it a âhealthierâ version of fried fish. However, some of the pieces of fish seemed to be just barely cooked enough, and one particularly thick cut of fish was still raw in the center. We couldnât even tear it apart, it wouldâve required a knife to cut through. So that piece was inedible. The other negative thing is that the chips/fries were not freshly prepared and hardly warm. To end on a positive note, the prices are reasonable and the restaurant is cute and clean with a small outdoor patio on an unbusy street. It probably deserves 3.5 stars but I want to draw attention to the owner about the raw fish issue. With some small changes, this could be a...
Read moreFood: Every time I eat here the food is perfect. Whether you wish to have a sandwich/roll with some hand cut fries, or if you would like to explore the wonderful combinations of coffee grain hummus in the tapas platter, you will not leave disappointed! Personally, I'd highly recommend ordering one dish of each type on the tapas menu, and then follow the directions of the chef in terms of the order of the meal - as flavour combinations are meticulously balanced so that your taste buds can enjoy every single bite. Who knew fresh tuna with apple could be such a magnificent combination!
Service: Smiles, friendliness, honesty. Three simple things that will always bring a customer back.
Atmosphere: As I sit writing this, Stand by Me by Ben E. King plays in the background - quite honestly giving me nostalgic goose bumps as I'm taken back to the happy moments in my life.
Now, time to write a job application (sorry work if you see this) that I hope will change my life for the better! This is certainly the...
