We stayed at this hotel in September 2019. The hotel is a true 3* hotel so don't expect anything more. Having said that, the staff were very polite and helpful, the rooms served their purpose and were comfortable. Based on the other reviews, the elevator never worked for them but it was working just fine when we stayed there. The breakfast in the morning is as you would expect...eggs, breads, some fruit, coffee machine, juices. Was an ok breakfast to start your day. They do have a room for the physically challenged which was quite large. We stayed in this room the first night as the room we got when we checked in only had one bed and it was me and my dad. While I love my dad, I wasn't about to share a bed with him :-)||||The best part about this hotel was it's location. It was close to everything and it was amazing to just sit on the balcony and watch the world pass below us. It got very busy and noisy at night time as that's when all the people come out for dinner and drinks. The air conditioning worked fine as well. As for a room with a balcony on the street side so that you can sit on the balcony and have a beer and watch people. Parking was an issue as they only have a few spots in front of the hotel. If you don't get a spot there, you will have to drive around the narrow streets to find another spot. There are some parking lots about a 5-10 minute walk away.||||If I was to visit Lagos again (which I really want to), I would...
Read moreI visited Hotel Riomar with my Father who is in a wheelchair. The accessibility to the entrance of the property was OK but could definitely be worked on as it was a struggle sometimes. The accessible room was spacious with a nice hot shower and large beds. Only downside was that it was extremely noisy of a night time which made it very very hard to sleep, music was playing every night until at least 3am. Breakfast was a nice display of bread, ham, cheeses, cereals, fruit and yoghurt. Location was perfect in terms of things to do - right in the middle of Lagos with plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby.
Staff were friendly but I have to give a special mention to Renato who went above and beyond to help us in our stay. From the moment we arrived he made us feel welcome, made us laugh and was there to give us a hand with anything we need. He helped me out with my father when it was needed and always made sure we were OK. I think if Renato wasn't working at the hotel then I would probably rate this as a 3 star but he truly made it that much better. Thank you Renato, you...
Read moreFront desk was very friendly and this hotel is close to all the action. But the elevator didn’t work the entire time I was there (and from reading other reviews it hasn’t worked for a while!), cleanliness of the room was not good. My WiFi in the room only worked the first night and my room phone did not work so I had to walk down four flights to tell the front desk. The response was that no one else said their WiFi wasn’t working. But worse was that every morning from 2-4:30 I was woken up by street noise even while wearing earplugs. I mentioned it to the front desk and said it would be fair to tell the customer at check in about the noise. The front desk blamed it on drunk people. Drunk people or not, I’m on vacation and have paid a great deal to be here so at least be forthright so that I can be||Informed and perhaps request a different location...
