7 Hills Indian Restaurant Worst experience and horrible place to eat in Lagos. I would really absolutely not recommend this restaurant. The worst restaurant I ate at in ever. I chose it because it had decent reviews on google but the reviews are definitely not true. I can't believe how this place has 4.8 stars. I don’t understand how this pace is even open. There were gnats and flies all over the place and especially near the kitchen wall where they are cooking the food. I am sure they fall directly into the food being cooked and sit and contaminate everything that is being used in that place. This place should be shut down from the health department. I wonder how people have not fallen sick and sued them yet. Just hoping we won't get food poisoning. It is a small dingy place with 4 tables and food is overly priced for really small portions. The servers are weird about serving Indian people itself. Really horrible food and hopeless service. Asked for a vegetable biryani and got chicken biryani instead and absolutely no acknowledgement about the mess up from the server. Though there were only 2 customers in the place, our food took forever to be prepared and get to our table. Other tables were left dirty as is and no one seemed interested to clean it either. Would not recommend at all. There are so many good restaurants in that area. Save yourselves and do not go into this place to eat and fall sick. Restroom was worse than a gas station toilet. The smell of urine in the entire sanitary area is really not suitable for a restaurant and this opens directly into the indoor sitting area and the kitchen where the flies are on the wall, hovering over the food being is so called...
Read moreAs many others have stated, one of the best Indians I have had. We arrived as walk ins and there was a bit of a wait but the waiter kindly offered us a drink while we waited. We had the butter chicken samosas, butter chicken and tikka masala, naan and jeera rice. I found the butter chicken far more mild and creamy than the tikka masala which was more of a strong tomato curry taste so it is depending on what you like. The sauces in general were amazing. The naan was most definitely the best naan I have ever tasted, the garlic naan was amazing. The bread was just so thin yet soft and perfectly risen. The rice was decent and flavourful. One thing I found was while the chicken was great it was in quite small strips/pieces. I would have preferred slightly thicker pieces and more tender as a result. What I did find strange was they had no popadoms when I asked (which is a first for an Indian restaurant for me) however as I was leaving I noticed tables being served popadoms so I am not sure what was the issue there. All in all an amazing Indian and I...
Read moreThe reviews are no joke or exaggeration. When we say this was one of our top dining experiences in Europe - we mean it! I spent a month touring around Portugal, Spain, and Italy and dined all over the board - from Michelin star restaurants to tiny holes in the wall - and the dining experience I'm talking about the most upon my return is what I found at 7 Hills. When we found ourselves in Lagos, I came across 7 Hills and was intrigued with the reviews. Some people are right when they say there isn't huge curb appeal - but that's what makes this place such a hidden gem! This was hands down the best Indian food I've ever had in my entire life. My sister and I are STILL talking about the butter chicken to everyone we tell our trip stories to. We have yet to find anything back home (USA) that compares - and we are searching. We did the chef's menu where they brought out a sampler of many different things. To die for! The garlic naan, the butter chicken (I'm saying it again) - so delicious! This is a must stop if you find yourself in...
