We were on the first floor (1C) facing the street and had a two bedroom apt. Beautiful efficiency unit with stove, fridge, nespresso machine, juicer, kettle and toaster. Lots of dishes etc… which helped when we just wanted to dine at home or make our own breakfast. We were welcomed with fresh oranges and honey with crackers upon arrival. Lovely rooftop lounge area where you can view the entire city and beach. This access is free. Also another lounge area on main floor which also has free bikes to use. You can borrow beach towels, grab more blankets and use iron etc… Beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. Only word of advice to those light sleepers, is that this little town is a heavy party town area and there are many many late night (until 4am etc…) revellers that do not respect that this lodging place is in a quiet zone. After the first night i just put on some noise cancellation app which did the trick for the most part but be forewarned there are a lot of happy drunk people around. Lol One deterrent was the drug pushers which we found to be more annoying than anything else and it was the same 4 that we observed moving around the inner area. Once we told them no they backed off easily. We felt safe in this area but as always when travelling be mindful of your surroundings. The staff at The Salty Lodge were nice and helpful when needed but we felt we were bothering them when we asked for the daily coffee refills. After the second day we didn't bother to ask anymore and just bought our own refills. Restaurante Bar Inna is the place to go for REAL delicious Portuguese food and the fish cataplana was AMAZING!!! The owner works there herself and her husband is the fisherman who catches the fresh fish served daily. We also went to Pomo Italian eatery but honestly it was just okay and not geared up to be all the hype of the line up. Kisa is an amazing place right beside the Salty Lodge and we highly recommend for home made gnocchi, pizza and vegan bowels. Not to mention their fresh juices are incredible. We also went to Don Toro angus beef steak house. The calamari was horrible BUT the steak and Argentinian vegetables were the BEST we have eaten in a very long time. Thanks for nice memories of a...
Read moreI had originally booked another hotel but we decided to stay an extra day and then the other hotel was sold out, so I booked this hotel and THANK YOU for that. What an amazing place.
We arrived late on thursday evening and had not booked a transfer to the hotel, but after we called them, they helped us without any problems. They also helped us with transport back to the airport when we were going home. :)
We are a couple and a friend who visited this place between thursday to tuesday in mid october. We had an apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Which was absolutely perfect.
The kitchen had both a dishwasher and a small freezer. But we ate out every day so we barely used the kitchen apart from some glasses.
The showers had good pressure and the absolute only thing I can 'complain' about at this hotel is that our toilet rolls ran out without enough new ones in the room. However, we were able to pick it up downstairs in the reception area, so it worked out anyway. The moldings in the shower may need a good cleaning also and water was running out on the floor sometimes when you took a shower.
We loved staying here, it's close to everything, in the middle of restaurant street with walking distance down to the beach.
The apartment is very clean and the hotel offered both bicycles and beach towels to take down to the beach. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others and we will be happy to return again.
If you are bothered by noise then this hotel may not be optimal for you as there is a lot of noise outside at night given the restaurants and clubs around. But if you, like us, don't mind that, it really is a good starting point for everything you want to see in Lagos. :)
The communication takes place through whatsapp, which I find incredibly smooth.
Oh and you have to go the roof terrace is fantastic and you can also see down to the water...
Read moreMy partner and I had a wonderful stay at Salty Lodge for three nights. We had a streetview 1 bedroom apartment, and thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and space we were provided. The apartment was clean, roomy, stylish, and well stocked. The bed was big and comfortable, and we loved having a small balcony facing the main strip, good for people watching. The rooftop common area at Salty is absolutely beautiful, with great views, and large covered/indoor area to hang out in as well. The location is great, and Lagos is very walkable. We frequented bars and restaurants in the area, and shopped at markets and liquor stores, which allowed us to easily use the kitchen in our apartment. We were stoked on the free bicycles available to guests, and used them to make the trip to Ponte De Piedade much quicker than if we were on foot, but be sure to inspect the bicycles before taking them out, as the first one i grabbed was falling apart a little bit and felt unsafe, but the second bike i used was perfect. The people working the desk at Salty Lodge were both very kind and helpful. The only negative we experienced was not a big deal, but it can be a little bit loud here, hearing doors in the hallways close early in the morning, and people in the main street late at night. That didn't tarnish our stay however, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend to friends. Overall a very positive...
