My favourite of the speciality coffee shops in Lagos!
Staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Coffee bean choice has a pleasant variety for pour over that changes often. Their tasting descriptions are spot on. They really know beans and clearly care a lot about really good coffee. Also, it may seem like a steep price if you're not used to pour over specialty roasts, but it is worth it and you get more than enough coffee to drink! The prices are very fair.
It's also a great place to get harder to find coffee items like Aeropress (and its accessories). Photos for sale are nice too. And they do takeaway, which is a bonus.
I would give it full stars if the latte had a little more care. Both times I've had one, it's been sort of watery and bitter. Decent, just not the best it could and should be at a place like this.
Also, there are tables that are marked "no laptops" which I very much appreciate, but I think during peak hours, they should go laptop free entirely. There have been multiple times I've come for a coffee and haven't been able to find a seat because so many tables are taken by these "digital nomad" types on their Instagrams. It's a coffee shop, not a library.
Many specialty cafes ban laptops entirely in Lisbon so that the people who want a specialty coffee (hard to find in Portugal) aren't turned away for some tourist drinking an Americano for 4 hours and leeching off free WiFi. It would be nice if something similar could happen in Lagos and if "digital nomads" could respect that this isn't USA or UK where you have Starbucks on every corner and anybody can get a fancy coffee easily. It seems to be a general issue across Lagos but at least this place does reserve some seats for non-laptop users.
Atmosphere otherwise is the best of all the specialty cafes here. It isn't pretentious at all, and that is...
Read moreOverrated and disappointing unfortunately. It was the only let down in the prefect lagos so far and I hate to say it. We came a day go and ordered one iced moka and on iced black coffee and I waited 18 minutes till I went to see the batista and ask for our drinks. Our order came 2 minute after and it was the wrong order but they were kind to give us a complementary cake. The second day we felt it was maybe an innocent mistake and that this type of situations happens, but I ordered a moka and waited outside 30 minutes till I called the worker and asked for our drinks which weren't made yet. I saw 6 people coming after us and getting their drinks. The drink was very very good but when I asked the worker why our drinks were late, he said because maybe I ordered when it was busy (which wasn't true) or that there was a chnage of barista which doesn't make any sense and make this place one of my worst experiences in lagos. I'm not telling you to avoid it, I'm only sharing the experience I had 2 days in a...
Read moreThe only bad experience we had during our 8-day trip to the Algarve. We were looking for a place to have coffee and a light snack in the afternoon and decided to stop here. We ordered an iced coffee, a matcha latte, an orange cake, and a caprese sandwich to share. The drinks and the cake arrived quickly, but after about 15 minutes of waiting for the sandwich, the waitress came back to tell us that unfortunately it wasnât in acceptable condition to serve and asked if we wanted something else instead.
We then ordered a croissant, but a few minutes later she returned to say they had just sold the last one, and offered us a refund.
In total, we wasted around 30 minutes and still couldnât have a proper snack. Very disappointing experience. The waitress was kind and polite, but overall the place felt a bit...
