We’ve spent 2 nights at BossaBed Lisbon in the beginning of our honeymoon trip, and we liked it there a lot! Upon arrival, the hotel owner left us a lovely surprise in the room, that was very sweet of her and definitely set the mood for the entire trip! The owner and the staff were amazing: they helped us to find all the great places to visit around the city, and gladly shared their favourite spots. Also, they kept our bags before check in and after check out, which was super convenient! The hotel is all new. It looks and feels very stylish and clean. The restaurant and wine bar area are designed very nicely, and the breakfast is tasty! There were no classic eggs and sausages, which I appreciated as there was a good variety of yummy food that a frequent traveler is not tired of. The rooms are small, but nice and clean, with a good minimalist aesthetic. As we didn’t come to Lisbon to stay in a room, it was just enough. I imagine it could feel a bit small if you travel with 2 check-in bags, but as we came only with cabin baggage, it was fine. The room had a split system AC installed that could get the room very cold very fast if you wanted it, or it could work in a fan mode. The shower was amazing! Exactly what you need after the whole day in the city: steamy hot and great pressure. We had no leaks or any other issues with the shower. The barn washroom door in our room was not closing fully, as the doorway was wider than the door itself, but who cares, it wasn’t much of an inconvenience for us. A hair dryer was available at the reception. Wifi connection was strong everywhere. The location of the hotel is just outside of the city centre. One day we chose to walk and enjoy the views. It was only about 20 min walking to the centre. Bus was 4 euro for 2 people, so I would recommend taking uber instead, as it was also about 4 euro to get pretty much anywhere downtown :) All and all I recommend BossaBed Lisbon if you are looking for a place to sleep, recharge, and get ready to explore the city after a yummy breakfast :)

This was the most shocking accommodation we have ever used. Dirty, noisy, smelly! Unfortunately due to poor drainage the bathroom flooded on the first night, the rest of the stay was marred by a terrible smell in the bathroom which came from the drains. Bathroom showed evidence of mould spores and was generally in need of an upgrading.  Although we knew the bathroom wasn’t en suite it was located down the corridor past other guests rooms and we felt unsafe to go there during the night.  We had to request the bedding to be changed as it hadn’t been changed in several days.  Air conditioning unit made a terrible noise.  Other guests were noisy and inconsiderate of the quiet times rules and the accommodation is right under a flight path so constant air traffic noise.  Breakfast was mediocre for choice and quality and meats and cheeses were left out uncovered, the general breakfast area and tables were covered in crumbs and spills and not regularly cleaned up.  The neighbourhood it’s self is close to the metro which is great but is run down with overflowing rubbish bins, stray dogs barking all night and fouling the streets.  This was supposed to be an anniversary stay and ended in disaster.  We tried to address these issues whilst there with staff in person, by phone and by messaging.  Calls were unanswered, messages in person not passed on.  Our drainage issue was rectified so that the shower was useable but remained gut wrenchingly smelly the whole time.  Our request to move to a different room was ignored.  We have addressed these issues with the b&b with little success and more ignored emails.  I cannot stress enough how frustrating and disappointing this stay was and how sad we are not to have been compensated appropriately.

An Otherwise Pleasant Stay Marred by Unsettling Construction Noise

During our recent stay at BossaBed, we were impressed with the friendly staff, cozy ambiance, and overall comfort of the accommodations. Unfortunately, the experience was significantly marred by the ongoing construction work next door, which began promptly at 7 am. Despite the B&B's positive attributes, we cannot recommend staying here until the construction noise subsides.

The B&B's inability to provide alternative rooms or earplugs left us feeling frustrated and sleep-deprived. We understand that the hotel was fully booked and that certain circumstances are beyond their control. However, the lack of proactive measures to mitigate the disruption was disappointing. The inability to offer a room change or provide earplugs, even temporarily, was a letdown considering the impact the construction noise had on our overall experience.

While we appreciate the B&B's other positive qualities, such as the cleanliness and friendly service, the incessant noise from the construction site significantly overshadowed our stay. For guests seeking a peaceful and uninterrupted getaway, we strongly advise against choosing this establishment until the neighboring construction work has been completed.

We hope that the management of BossaBed takes note of this review and implements measures to better address and communicate such issues in the future, ensuring a more enjoyable stay for...
