While a little out of town, the hotel is close to the Parque metro station providing easy and regular access to the city and the airport. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood with a park opposite.||Inside the place is clean but dated, and very dimly lit. ||Our first floor room was spacious with huge beds, good air-con, decent wardrobe space, and a large bathroom - a highlight being the shower. Rarely are hotel showers better than the one you have at home, but this was good.||Unfortunately, I think that’s about it for the rooms positives. ||The pillows are travel-size tiny and uncomfortably soft. There are no coffee facilities and no irons. The bathroom door is frosted glass - not ideal when lit from the inside, so get comfortable with your companion.||Things don’t improve much beyond the room.||The majority of staff simply don’t want to know. We needed a spare towel after dropping one in the shower - the guy at reception made enough noise to let us know what an inconvenience we were when getting up to fetch one. ||Don’t expect a greeting when you arrive from these guys, literally anyone could walk in unnoticed by this lot. The exception here was an older lady in a different uniform who we would see in the mornings, she was very kind.||The breakfast was okay - decent scrambled eggs, coffee, pastries and fruit, supported by cooked hotdog sausages, cheap cold cuts of meat and not-juice ‘juice’ from a machine. The bar was closed during our stay. ||In summary, it’s an alright choice if you just need a base for exploring and a decent room to sleep in. But you could spend a little more and find yourself closer to the city with...
Read moreDecent hotel for a citytrip. Rooms are alright and clean (except the floor), airconditioning is working perfect and bathrooms are nice. The breakfast was very good and varied. Coffee not so much. You can leave your luggage on your last day to pick it up later.
The staff was overall nice, except for a guy called Antonio who skipped hospitality-training. We had a simple question about why our room was not cleaned and he blamed us for it (said we would have the "Do not disturb" sign on like we are some kind of idiots, which we obviously hadn't), that was awful. Specially since he walks around like he is the manager, and if he is he isn't leading by example. Don't treat your guests like they are idiots.
Location is perfect, it's pretty quiet (except for the night Benfica won the league, the party was right at the end of the street, congratulations!). There is a metro station right around the corner which brings you into the city centre. There's also a few bus stops which could bring you to Belem or LX Factory (with the same 24h ticket you can buy at the metro station). It's right across a nice park with a beautiful view and a nice botanic garden. As the airport is quite close-by, I'd recommend getting an uber (for 8 to 12 euros, depending on how busy it is) from the airport to the hotel and back as the elevators aren't always working in the metro stations and you don't want to carry your luggage...
Read moreThe hotel staff members at the front desk were very rude. There was a capsule coffee machine in our room. We had some capsule coffee and they intended to charge us, but neither price list nor informed paper/sign to show that coffee and tee are not free of charge. The coffee/tea in the rooms of the hotels I had ever stayed are all free. That's fine they charge the coffee/tea in the room if there is any information in the room but NO. I asked the hotel staff where is the informed paper or sign, in which corner of the room, they refused to show me but kept yelling at me saying " you didn’t ask, no body tell you that is free." They were very rude and that's so ridiculous, if so, should I ask everything in their hotel room not showing on the price list is free or not? Should I ask is the towel free, is the bath gel free, is the toilet paper free... We stayed for 5 nights, sometimes the cleaning lady didn't knock the door to check if we go out or not, they just use their key and came in, so unprofessional. The amenities are scarce compared to their price. The staff of the hotel front desk is the worst I've ever...
