I really wanted to like this place because it has a lovely decor and open-air space at the back, as well as a delicious-sounding menu. However, the first time I went, we waited a while to get a waiter to give us a menu, then again until we could order. Then, we were told that BOTH of our orders couldn't be made because they were out of halloumi for a week now; this is something they could have mentioned when they handed us the menu because this is a main ingredient in several savory dishes. I ordered a kombucha, and they were out of it, my friend ordered a Fitz Cola and the waitress came back and said they were also out of that. It was getting silly because how can you be a restaurant and be out of so many things that are listed on your menu?! The worst part was being charged 1,50 euro for a tiny ramekin of sriracha that I asked for because the food I ordered had no flavor! This is ridiculous already, but after having so many issues with unavailable items, you would think they would be gracious enough to not charge for hot sauce! The waitress said she was sorry but they need to charge for everything and that the owners don't allow them to comp any items... I wanted to give the restaurant a second chance, and so I went back today and ordered two pastries. I asked them specifically if they were fresh and they said yes, they come in fresh every day. BOTH pastries were so stale and cold, they were completely inedible. It's so sad to put so much money and effort into a nice place but then not care about the service or the food. The owners need to allow the staff to make their own decisions when it comes to customer service, and they need to offer FRESH food and not be out of...
Read moreI am leaving a review because I didn't have the best experience at this restaurant . I went there on Sunday 19th January. My friend was waiting for me inside so I went in to find her. That was my mistake because one of the employees quickly stopped me and looked at me with such contempt. I told him my friend was inside waiting for me but he didn't believe me as there are some people who lie to get in(?). I told him that if he didn't believe me, he could go with me and see my friend was indeed inside and waiting for me. I was wondering why he wouldn't believe and asked him if it was because I am from Latin America (he was speaking Spanish to me) but he just said there was some lady that sneaked in before. I didn't find my friend immediately so he asked me if I already met my friend before or if this was the first time (?), still doubting me and believing I was lying. Anyway, after I found her, I still have to ask my friend to wave at us because he was still doubtful she was indeed my friend. I found the whole encounter quite bizarre and left me feeling uncomfortable and uneasy. I understand that some people may want to sneak in but there were a few tables free in there anyway, and there are better ways to approach this. He could have grabbed a menu and accompanied me to make sure I already had a table, without making accusations about me lying to get in. Besides, this is not some private club but a brunch place that I thought everyone is welcomed to go in and enjoy, but I found out this is not...
Read moreThird visit disappointing, same breakfast. Under cooked bacon, overcooked and cold poached eggs. Slower service, as today the place was nearly packed, but I suspect there will be fewer crowded days in their future. I really don't know what to think at this point. The manager regularly found doing back office work in full view of the customers and staff. Second visit not the same as the first with only a 10 day separation. I ordered the big breakfast and I doubt there is a better choice. Perfect poached eggs, thick cut mildly smoked bacon, and hash brown potato patties. I went late on a Monday morning and it was at about 40% capacity. When people find out about this place there's going to be a long wait to get a table. It was a bit of a challenge to find and initially looked really small, but the space is big in the center and back. It's an open plan kitchen which is a nice touch. I will be back. I returned back a week later and I almost couldn't get a table. That being said, I ordered the same thing as before and noticed that the bacon was cut thinner. Unfortunate, but I'm not the boss. To be fair I'd rather pay a bit more and get thicker bacon. Please note the pictures for comparison. Who makes these poor decisions? I've removed a star from a previously perfect score. Such a shame, I hope it returns to the...
